The Opportunity
Our Industrial team brings together experienced engineers and project managers with a strong track record of delivering complex, high-quality projects.
Due to continued growth, we are looking for an experienced Engineering Lead to lead multi-disciplinary design delivery and work closely with clients across major heavy industrial projects.
In this role, you will oversee the planning, coordination, and delivery of design phases across a portfolio of projects. Working alongside clients, and technical leads, you’ll ensure design outcomes are integrated, robust, and aligned with project objectives.
You will:
Lead and coordinate multi-disciplinary design teams across concept, preliminary, detailed design and construction stages
Manage design programs, scope, budgets, risks, internal and external interfaces and quality processes
Provide technical guidance and drive decision making throughout all stages of design
Facilitate design workshops, peer reviews and design assurance activities
Support bids and proposals, including defining design strategies and methodology
Contribute to the growth and capability development of Beca’s Industrial design team
About You
You are a degree-qualified Process, Mechanical or Electrical Engineer with experience in sectors such a heavy manufacturing, mining, metals processing, chemicals, or sustainable fuels. You bring strong technical expertise and a proven ability to lead multi-disciplinary design delivery on complex projects.
You are collaborative, solutions-focused, and confident working across a range of stakeholders to drive successful outcomes. You’ll also bring:
Proven experience as a Project Engineer, Engineering Lead, or similar role on multi-disciplinary engineering projects
Strong understanding of engineering design processes, inter-disciplinary coordination, problem-solving, design assurance, and quality management
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to navigate complex interfaces across disciplines, contractors, and clients
Strong relationship building skills, and ability to understand and translate our client's requirements into project deliverables
A passion for coaching and mentoring junior team members
