Full job description
We made history and now we work to transform the future – for our customers, our communities and our families. You'll see your work on the road every day, helping people move freely and pursue their dreams. At Ford, you can build more than vehicles. Come build what matters.
As part of our Human Resources team, you’ll help us attract, hire and retain the top talent we need to achieve our bold vision. You’ll play a vital role in defining, developing and maintaining the winning culture that empowers diverse individuals to work together and create the impossible. We’re seeking change leaders, talent strategists, employee advocates and culture architects to enable our teams, partners, and businesses to do and be their best.
In this position...
As a key member of the TA Leadership team, you will set strategy and direction for recruiting across the Advanced EV organization—developing, implementing, and monitoring the full recruiting process.
You'll build strong relationships with HR partners, engineering/technical hiring managers, and external sources to drive efficient, full lifecycle recruiting for hard-to-fill, highly specialized technical roles.
This highly visible role spans all levels and functions of the organization, providing expertise on TA strategy, process, and best-in-class programs to help attract and engage top engineering and technical talent in the EV space.
What you'll do...
Design and implement a targeted TA strategy for Advanced EV, tailoring best practices to disciplines like battery engineering, electric powertrain, controls, software, and autonomy.
Identify gaps and build strategies to meet technical hiring needs in a highly competitive market.
Partner with the broader/Global TA team to align processes and benchmark technical recruiting expertise.
Use diverse sourcing methods—postings, direct/passive sourcing, engineering communities, conferences, and referrals—to build a diverse, qualified technical talent pool.
Analyze hiring data and future demand to identify effective sourcing models for niche and emerging EV skill sets.
Develop direct-sourcing tactics and build a strong internal technical recruiting bench.
Drive process improvements for consistent communication and delivery across a fast-moving engineering organization.
Track core recruiting metrics (time, cost, volume, quality), with emphasis on quality-of-hire for technical roles.
Lead, coach, and develop a team of technical recruiters, ensuring fluency in EV technology and the technical talent market.
Act as SME on technical recruiting, guiding hiring managers on competency assessment and interview design.
Track industry trends, competitor talent strategies, and the technical labor market to inform sourcing and hiring strategy.
Thrives in a fast-paced technical environment; adaptable and proactive in driving change.
Strong sense of urgency and initiative; leads cross-functional teams and manages multiple urgent requisitions with confidence.
Exceptional leadership skills to attract, motivate, and retain a team of technical recruiters, sourcers, and coordinators.
Strong technical recruiting knowledge—credibly engages engineers and partners with hiring managers on evaluating talent (electrical, mechanical, software, battery/powertrain).
Superior interpersonal and negotiation skills; engages effectively at all levels, including senior technical leaders; open to giving/receiving feedback.
Strategic, creative thinker with strong execution focus across multiple projects.
Strong project management and consultative skills to influence and partner with technical leaders.
Analytical and metrics-driven; uses data to support decisions and business cases.
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills across all organizational levels.
High professional integrity, confidentiality, and emotional maturity in handling sensitive issues.
You'll have...
BS/BA required.
10–15 years of TA experience with a focus on strategic technical recruitment, ideally in automotive, EV, or tech/engineering industries.
5+ years of supervisory/leadership experience managing technical or engineering recruiting teams in a high-volume, fast-paced setting.
Deep knowledge of technical recruiting practices across engineering disciplines (electrical, mechanical, software, controls, battery/powertrain).
Strong understanding of TA best practices, the technical labor market, and employment regulations (including California-specific requirements).
Proven success in dynamic, matrixed environments building diverse, robust technical talent pools.
