Candidates must have at least six months of experience in a medical office setting or one year in a high-volume public contact role. Proficiency in basic computer keyboarding and the ability to perform physical tasks like walking across campus and lifting 20 lbs are required.
The PHO PAS Specialist coordinates multiple clinic and ancillary appointments for patients seen in the Pediatric Hematology and Oncology Clinic and the OHSU Doernbecher Infusion Unit. This position requires high-volume phone work and high-volume face-to-face patient support and services. This position will be responsible for making outgoing calls and receiving incoming calls to schedule new and return patients and triage them to their respective schedulers as needed. PHO PAS is responsible for the verification of patient information and checking in/out of patients for appointments as scheduled. Prompt and professional communication with provider and RN teams is essential to ensure a positive experience for patients. Excellent customer service skills are essential to succeed in this position. Regular attendance is a requirement for effective facilitation of patient care on our team.
