The Advocacy Collegiate Host welcomes and assists elected officials and special guests during the National FFA Convention & Expo. Responsibilities include providing facility tours, explaining competitive events, and supporting the Advocacy, Literacy, and Ag-Based Experiences team.
Candidates must have FFA experience and strong interpersonal and communication skills. A high school diploma is required, with some college or agricultural industry experience preferred.
Description
The Advocacy Collegiate Host is responsible for welcoming and assisting elected officials and other special guests during the National FFA Convention & Expo. This individual works closely with dignitaries to ensure they have a positive and meaningful experience while attending convention events. Open to individuals with FFA experience, this role requires strong interpersonal skills and a solid understanding of convention programming and logistics. Duties may include providing tours of key facilities such as the Indiana State Fairgrounds, Indiana Convention Center, Gainbridge Fieldhouse, and Lucas Oil Stadium; explaining various competitive events; and supporting the Advocacy, Literacy, and Ag-Based Experiences team with initiatives like the Student Showcase Stage and Delegate Experience. Travel to and from Indianapolis, along with lodging and meals, will be provided. Hosts are expected to arrive by Tuesday afternoon of convention week and assist with related tasks through Friday evening.
