Company Description
Te Tākinatanga - Our Story
At Contact, we believe home is the most important place in the world. That belief shapes everything we do, from leading the energy transition to how we power Aotearoa and care for our people and communities.
We’re a power, broadband, and mobile company, but we’re also investing boldly in renewable energy and smarter, more connected ways of working (mahi). Our ambition is simple: to leave Aotearoa better than we found it. Simply put, we touch lives to make life better.
Within our Retail business, we’re focused on delivering more personalised customer experiences, future‑focused products, and sustained commercial outcomes. This role plays a central role in planning and delivering retail revenue outcomes, bringing a clear commercial lens to how initiatives are identified, prioritised, and sequenced to achieve our strategic goals. It operates across value streams, ensuring the right work is in flight, aligned, and set up to deliver measurable impact.
Job Description
Te Whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity
This is a senior, hands-on role where you’ll work across multiple value streams, connecting people, planning, and delivery to achieve meaningful commercial outcomes.
You’ll sit across key value streams within our retail business, including customer segmentation and growth, future customer experience, future product and flex working closely with squads, product owners, and technology teams to ensure initiatives deliver real impact.
In this role, you will:
Shape and drive planning and prioritisation of initiatives to deliver on strategic retail outcomes.
Look beyond immediate delivery to identify and build a forward pipeline of initiatives aligned to commercial and strategic initiatives.
Connect squads, value streams, and technology teams, acting as a key point of influence and alignment.
Monitor delivery progress, identify risks or constraints, and work with stakeholders to unblock or re-sequence work.
Partner with Retail, Technology, and Finance to track performance, benefits, and delivery against commitments.
Lead governance rhythms, planning events, and value stream coordination to keep work visible and on track.
Lift ways of working by bringing structure, rigour, and clarity to planning and delivery across teams.
You’ll be working in a complex, evolving environment, where there’s clear ambition and direction, yet a need to navigate ambiguity while keeping focus on outcomes.
Qualifications
Ko wai koe | About You
You’re someone who operates comfortably at the intersection of strategy, commercial performance, and delivery. You’ll have the ability to shape what’s ahead and influence how it is realised across a complex environment.
You bring a strong commercial perspective and the credibility to engage, challenge, and align senior stakeholders around the initiatives that will deliver the greatest impact.
You’ll likely bring:
Experience in planning, transformation, or delivery leadership roles within complex, customer‑focused environments with strong technology delivery.
Well-developed commercial acumen, with a clear ability to link initiatives to measurable business outcomes.
A track record of shaping and prioritising work at a portfolio or value stream level. not just managing delivery within it. .
Confidence working with senior stakeholders, influencing direction, and driving clarity where there are competing priorities.
The ability to think ahead in identifying opportunities, shaping pipelines, and aligning work to strategic outcomes.
Strong organisational and systems thinking, with the ability to coordinate complex, multi-stream delivery environments.
An analytical mindset, using data and insight to inform decisions and challenge assumptions.
A collaborative, outcomes-focused approach, with the ability to build credibility and trust cross diverse groups.
You’ll thrive in this role if you bring energy, pace, and a continuous improvement mindset to how we plan and deliver, while maintaining a clear and consistent focus on commercial outcomes.
