Full job description
Do you want to work on projects that make a real difference for leading companies across Australasia? Do you want to work in a place where you can call home, where you can get ahead in your career without having to move on?
At Sandfield, we build smart software solutions for top brands, and we're looking for talented developers to join our team. We’re looking for more than just coders; we want innovators who can bridge the gap between complex business needs and cutting-edge technology. Last year we were a finalist in the Best Place to Work in NZ, and have been shortlisted again this year.
About Sandfield
We're a Kiwi-owned company that's been around since 1989. Our work facilitates high-performance supply chains for Mainfreight, Qube, HW Richardson, and Booths, and keeps millions of orders and data points flowing for Foodstuffs. It also manages business finances for Team Global Express and Green Acres, helps fill seats on the Interislander for KiwiRail, looks after security services for First Security and books parking spaces through ParkMate, plus so much more.
We pride ourselves on being different from your typical tech company. At Sandfield, you will:
Solve Real Business Problems: We don't just write code; we seek to understand the "why." A key part of your role will be a deep understanding of business requirements to ensure our solutions deliver maximum impact.
Leverage AI for Innovation: We are evolving how we work by integrating AI tools to accelerate development and create more intelligent business solutions for our clients.
Interact Directly with Clients: Our developers deal directly with our clients. We spend just as much time nurturing soft skills, like communication and business acumen, as we do helping you become a coding "ninja."
Join a Supportive Team: Our collaborative culture is at the centre of everything we do at Sandfield, making it a pretty special place to work. We know this because people also don’t tend to leave; the average length of stay is more than five years.

Our tech stack
We primarily use the Microsoft stack to build web-based applications, with some opportunities for mobile development. Full-stack experience is ideal, but not required. We'll support you in developing your skills.
Requirements:
Required:
Full-Stack Mindset: Solid experience building web applications using the Microsoft stack (C#, .NET Core/WebAPI).
Database Fundamentals: Comfortable designing and querying SQL Server databases.
Core Web Skills: A good grasp of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
Communication: You are comfortable working directly with customers. You enjoy translating business requirements into technical solutions and supporting those solutions in production.
We’ll Also Love To See:
Modern Frontend: Experience with React and TypeScript.
Legacy Flexibility: If you haven’t worked with modern frameworks, experience with MVC or WebForms is a great foundation.
Tooling: Familiarity with Git for version control.
AI-Driven Development: Experience using (or a strong curiosity about) AI coding assistants like GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, or similar to accelerate your workflow.
Performance Tuning: Experience optimising application performance and database queries.
Sandfield delivers software solutions that give clients an edge.

We build software that helps ambitious companies gain a competitive edge—whether it’s through smarter supply chains, seamless integrations, financial clarity, or custom development that breaks the mould.
Our team of 150+ developers, engineers, and problem-solvers are some of the best in the business. But what truly sets them apart is their curiosity, straight-up communication, and deep industry expertise. They’re not just writing code—they’re designing solutions that help our clients operate smarter, move faster, and differentiate themselves.
We don’t do off-the-shelf. Instead, we offer a best-of-both-worlds approach—proven frameworks and products that provide out-of-the-box certainty, with the flexibility to adapt and evolve as your business grows.
At the heart of Sandfield are four specialist business units, each delivering high-performance solutions:
🔹 Origin Supply Chain – A suite of Logistics & Transport applications that connects every moving part of your operation, giving you full visibility, control, and efficiency across your supply chain.
🔹 Crossfire Integration – A fully managed integration service designed for supply chain businesses, ensuring seamless data flow between any system, reducing manual effort and operational friction.
🔹 OnAccount Financial Management – A financial system with deep integration and automation capabilities for complex and high-volume financial processes.
🔹 Edge Custom Development – Bespoke software that solves unique business challenges, delivering tailored solutions where off-the-shelf simply doesn’t cut it.
Each business unit operates as a specialist in its field, but the real magic happens when they work together. Our solutions integrate seamlessly, enabling our clients to harness compounding value across their business.
From concept and design to development and ongoing support, we’re your technology partner—helping you turn vision into reality.
