This is an exciting opportunity to lead and grow a team of process engineers, focusing on technical excellence, innovation, and team development. If you have a strong process or process piping engineering background and a passion for complex system design, this role offers a dynamic career path in cutting-edge facility engineering.
Position Summary: As a Process Piping Engineering Lead, you will play a critical role in designing and developing advanced process systems for semiconductor, science and technology, healthcare, and advanced technology facilities. You will lead the engineering design of key systems such as ultrapure water, process cooling water, compressed air and vacuum systems, bulk gas storage, and hazardous wastewater collection and treatment. Your leadership will drive technical excellence, project success, and team growth while ensuring the highest quality standards in process-focused design and coordination.
Essential Job Functions: The following duties are considered essential to the role. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions: • Lead and manage design projects in clean rooms, fabrication facilities, microelectronics, industrial R&D labs, and hospital environments. • Develop process flow diagrams (PFDs), piping & instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), and process piping designs. • Design high-purity water systems, bulk and specialty gas storage and distribution systems, and hazardous wastewater treatment. • Prepare technical specifications and datasheets for process equipment. • Stamp and sign engineering documents including drawings, reports, specifications, and calculations for submission to Authorities Having Jurisdiction. • Coordinate with external stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies, to ensure project alignment and compliance. • Provide construction administration support including submittals, RFIs, and site visits. • Lead and develop a team of process engineers, providing mentorship and technical guidance. • Ensure compliance with relevant codes and industry standards, including NFPA, Building, Plumbing, and Mechanical Codes. • Utilize design coordination software, including Navisworks, Bluebeam, and Revit. • Drive client satisfaction through effective project execution and strong business relationships.
Required Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required. • Professional Engineering Stamp – Mechanical or Chemical (in CA, or willing to get reciprocity in CA). • 7+ years of experience in design and construction within the AEC industry. • Experience managing process system design within a consulting engineering or A/E firm. • Proven expertise in semiconductor, microelectronics, R&D, and clean room environments. • Strong knowledge of Building and Mechanical Codes, NFPA, and other relevant industry standards. • Experience leading and developing engineering teams. • Proficiency in Navisworks, Bluebeam, Revit, and MS Office. • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis; this position is not eligible for current or future employment visa sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications: • Experience working with Pipe-Flo. • Strong knowledge of thermal stress analysis and expansion calculations. • Knowledge of sustainability principles, energy-efficient designs, and energy codes. • Strong client relationships. • Familiarity with writing proposals including negotiating fees.
Work Environment and Location: This position offers a hybrid work environment, with a requirement of two in-office days per week in one of our California or Oregon offices. All candidates must be located in and eligible to work in the U.S.
Compensation: Salary Range: $130k-$190k (depending on experience) The base salary range represents the low and high end of the compensation scale for this role.
