The technician is responsible for the installation, programming, and repair of building automation and energy management systems for commercial and industrial clients. This includes performing routine service calls, executing planned maintenance, and leading commissioning efforts on new project sites.
Candidates must have a high school diploma and at least 3 years of progressive experience in building automation or HVAC controls. Proficiency with BACnet, Distech Controls, Tridium Niagara, and a valid driver's license are required.

The Controls Technician will play a dynamic and critical role in both the installation of new building automation systems and the ongoing service, planned maintenance, and retrofit of existing systems. This role offers a unique blend of project-based work and technical service, ensuring a diverse and engaging day-to-day experience for a control professional. The technician will be responsible for the installation, programming, and repair of building automation and energy management systems for commercial and industrial clients within the North Carolina region. This role is based at EMCOR Services Aircond's office in Charlotte, NC. The schedule is Monday-Friday, 8 am-5 pm EST. This role may require occasional overnight travel (less than 25%) within the North Carolina region.

This position involves tasks that may require climbing ladders, lifting and carrying items weighing over 50 pounds, identifying wire colors for electrical work, and working in confined or elevated spaces. The role may also include exposure to seasonal temperature variations, dust, dirt, allergens, and refrigerants. Employees may be required to work in tight or enclosed areas. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the job.
Use of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required at all times to ensure safety.
This position works in a typical office environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
