Position Summary
The Center Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the retail center by leading the team, delivering an exceptional customer experience, driving sales, and maintaining operational excellence.
This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who enjoys working with customers, developing employees, solving problems, and taking ownership of the store's daily performance. The Center Manager is expected to lead by example, maintain high operational standards, and create a positive, customer-focused culture.
The ideal candidate is an experienced retail leader with excellent communication skills, strong business judgment, and the ability to motivate a team while ensuring the store operates efficiently and profitably.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Development
Recruit, hire, train, coach, and develop store associates.
Build a positive, accountable, and customer-focused work environment.
Schedule staff to maximize productivity while maintaining excellent customer service.
Conduct regular coaching sessions and performance evaluations.
Lead by example with professionalism, integrity, and a strong work ethic.
Customer Experience
Deliver outstanding customer service on every interaction.
Resolve customer concerns quickly and professionally.
Foster a culture where customer satisfaction is the highest priority.
Ensure every customer receives knowledgeable, friendly, and efficient service.
Sales & Business Development
Drive revenue growth through shipping, printing, mailbox services, and other business solutions.
Identify opportunities to increase sales through consultative selling and customer relationship building.
Support local marketing initiatives and community outreach.
Respond promptly to corporate and commercial customer inquiries.
Operations
Oversee all daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures.
Ensure compliance with The UPS Store operating standards and company policies.
Maintain a clean, organized, safe, and professional retail environment.
Manage inventory and restock supplies to support uninterrupted operations.
Oversee print production workflow and quality control.
Coordinate with other store managers when operational support is needed.
Financial & Administrative Responsibilities
Monitor daily sales and operating performance.
Control labor and operating expenses within established budgets.
Review employee time records for payroll processing.
Prepare weekly and monthly operational reports for ownership.
Recommend operational improvements that increase efficiency and profitability.
