You will help create a welcoming, professional and well-organised experience for colleagues and visitors, while keeping the day-to-day running of the site safe, efficient and customer-focused. Who We Are
Manchester City is a football club rooted in East Manchester, with a story that began in 1880 and continues to grow today. Built on resilience, belief and togetherness, success on the pitch is driven by the moments and memories shared with millions of Fans around the world. City is known for its bravery, its determination to the very end and its strong connection to where we come from. With Mancunian roots and a global outlook, we are shaped by our Fans and driven by a long-term vision, from developing future talent to supporting the communities we call home. Together, we are creating the next chapter, the City way.
Within our Operations team, the Facilities Management function helps keep our sites welcoming, safe and well-organised for colleagues, visitors and matchday activity. The team takes pride in reliable service, clear communication and practical support that helps the wider Club deliver a positive experience every day.
The Role
As Receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for our Manchester site, delivering a polished front-of-house service that reflects the standards of the Club. Your work will help shape first impressions, support the flow of visitors and calls, and make sure the site runs smoothly for everyone who uses it.
You will manage a varied mix of reception and administrative tasks, including greeting visitors, answering enquiries, relaying messages, maintaining office systems, logging jobs, booking internal spaces, handling post and deliveries, and supporting stock control and office records. You will also help with wider facilities administration, such as diary management, preparing documents and supporting subcontractor processes when required.
The role also contributes to matchday and event operations, where you will help maintain security, follow visitor sign-in and sign-out procedures, and support the smooth running of activities across the site. Working closely with the Head Receptionist, Facilities Management and wider site teams, you will help maintain high standards, act with care and professionalism, and play a valued part in the everyday experience of colleagues and visitors alike.
What You’ll Bring
⚽ Experience in a front-of-house, reception, customer service or administrative role in a busy environment. ⚽ Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint. ⚽ Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills, with a good standard of English. ⚽ Well-developed organisational skills, with the ability to manage time well, keep accurate records and work safely and methodically. ⚽ Comfortable handling calls, visitors, enquiries and day-to-day administrative tasks with professionalism and care. ⚽ Enthusiasm, flexibility and a proactive approach to supporting matchday and event operations when needed.
Why Choose Us
Working at Manchester City means being supported to do your best, with the flexibility and encouragement to look after your wellbeing. We are committed to helping our people learn, grow and thrive in a culture built on collaboration, openness and hard work.
As part of our team, you will receive 26 days’ annual leave plus a day off for your birthday, private healthcare and dental cover, and an annual discretionary bonus. You will also have access to a Health Cash Plan, Employee Assistance Programme with 24/7 GP support, and a company pension and life assurance.
Manchester-based employees also benefit from free on-site parking, complimentary breakfast and lunch, and access to a range of sports and leisure clubs.
You can enjoy a range of additional benefits, including cycle to work, Give As You Earn, discounted match tickets, savings in the City Store, a free City+ subscription, stadium tour discounts, and wider retail and lifestyle offers.
