The Director of Community Engagement will lead the community's engagement and communications strategy to foster resident connection and belonging. They will manage the onsite Community Life team, oversee annual budgets, and build strong partnerships with residents, the Board, and local stakeholders.
Requirements
Candidates must have 10+ years of experience in community-based organizations or related fields, including at least 7 years of supervisory experience. Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills are required, with experience in HOA governance or community association management being highly desirable.

In this role, you’ll lead the community’s engagement and communications strategy, helping bring The Grove Frisco’s vision to life through meaningful resident experiences, strong relationships, thoughtful planning, and a highly connected Community Life team.
You’ll also serve as a trusted partner to residents, community leaders, developer partners, and the Board while creating opportunities that strengthen connection throughout the community.

What You’ll Do
Lead Community Engagement & Communications
Develop and execute engagement and communications strategies that strengthen connection across The Grove Frisco.
Create meaningful opportunities for residents, neighbors, partners, and stakeholders to connect through programs, events, volunteerism, clubs, committees, and other community-building initiatives.
Use resident feedback, surveys, and community data to help shape programming and engagement efforts.
Build relationships with resident leaders and volunteers and create opportunities for them to play an active role in community life.
Lead the Team & Drive Execution
Lead and develop the onsite Community Life team responsible for engagement programs and communications.
Establish clear priorities, systems, and plans that support consistent, high-quality execution.
Develop strategic plans and annual programs of work aligned with community goals.
Bring strong organization, follow-through, and attention to detail while managing multiple priorities and initiatives.
Build Strong Relationships & Partnerships
Serve as a trusted partner to the Executive Director, developer partners, Board of Directors, residents, and other key stakeholders.
Maintain open communication with the Board and provide professional guidance, updates, and reporting on matters affecting the community.
Cultivate relationships with local government, school districts, civic and social groups, nonprofit organizations, arts and cultural organizations, and other community partners.
Collaborate across Cohere and with the broader Texas engagement team to share resources, ideas, and best practices.
Manage Budgets, Programs & Resources
Develop and manage annual budgets that support approved community goals and programming priorities.
Monitor expenses and financial performance and identify thoughtful ways to maximize resources.
Identify and manage vendors supporting community programs and events, including pricing, contracts, insurance, and required documentation.
Coordinate permits, licensing, and other requirements to help ensure community activities comply with applicable regulations.
What We’re Looking For
10+ years of experience in community-based organizations, nonprofit management, community operations, governance, community-building programs, or a related environment.
Direct experience working with and reporting to a Board of Directors.
7+ years of experience supervising and leading professional staff.
Strong communication skills with the ability to build trusted relationships and comfortably speak with both small and large groups.
Strong management, organizational, planning, and leadership skills.
Experience developing strategic management or leadership plans.
Financial acumen and experience preparing and monitoring budgets.
Experience working with volunteers, clubs, committees, neighborhood groups, or similar community stakeholders.
A collaborative, diplomatic, and people-centered leadership style with strong judgment and the ability to make independent decisions.
Community association management or HOA governance experience is highly desirable.
Real estate, community development, municipal government, public agency, marketing, communications, or public relations experience is beneficial.
Additional Requirements
This is an onsite position based at The Grove Frisco in Frisco, Texas.
Primary schedule is Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m., with flexibility to support some evenings, weekends, and holidays as community needs require.
Must have reliable transportation, a current driver’s license, and an acceptable driving record.
Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 30 pounds and be on your feet for extended periods.
