The dispatcher coordinates with system operators to direct and dispatch crews to service problems and emergencies. They also handle emergency calls and ensure effective communication between field personnel, 911 centers, and system operators.
Candidates must have a basic understanding of electrical distribution systems and successfully complete a CRITICALL test. The role requires the ability to obtain NERC/CIP PSP clearance and adhere to a 30-mile residency requirement.
Dispatcher-Shift will work in conjunction with System Operators and appropriate supervisors in contacting, directing, and dispatching personnel to response to service problems and emergencies. This is NOT A REMOTE POSITION. Successful candidates must report to PPL’s Command Center located in Allentown, PA for every shift. The schedule for this position is a rotating shift and the successful candidates must be available to work nights, weekends and holidays. There is a 30 mile residency requirement for this role (address to be provided if selected for consideration). This is a union position and successful candidates will be members of IBEW Local 1600.
