Requirements
Requires a bachelor's degree and over 10 years of technical product or program management experience. Candidates must demonstrate expertise in advertising technologies and the ability to lead complex, cross-organizational programs.
Full job description
Amazon's Advertising Technology team builds the technology infrastructure and ad-serving systems to manage billions of advertising queries every day. The result is better quality advertising for publishers and more relevant ads for customers. Our infrastructure supports millions of Internet users and handles billions of queries per day, all delivered in milliseconds. Our data platform processes massive data sets to develop business intelligence and analytics that are critical for the efficiency and profitability of our advertising business.
As a Principal Product Manager on our Ad-Identity team, you’ll define and execute cross-functional products that power Amazon’s advertising infrastructure, serving billions of queries daily. You’ll leverage your deep expertise in digital advertising, technical product management, and business strategy to drive innovation in identity solutions that enhance ad relevance, improve publisher quality, and support Amazon’s advertising ecosystem.
Key job responsibilities Define and execute product strategy by identifying new business opportunities, working backward from customer needs, and developing products and initiatives that scale across the advertising ecosystem
Drive continuous improvement by owning key metrics, analyzing performance data, and collaborating closely with engineering and stakeholders to optimize ad-identity solutions
Define product vision and strategy, creating a clear multi-year roadmap that guides engineering, science, and design efforts across the organization
Manage cross-functional stakeholders by balancing business needs with technical constraints, influencing priorities, and providing clarity in ambiguous situations across Amazon Advertising teams
Partner with industry leaders by engaging with ad-tech companies and industry bodies to explore collaborations and advance Amazon's position in the advertising identity space
Translate insights into product strategy, ensuring our solutions remain at the forefront of the advertising identity industry
A day in the life As a Principal Product Manager on our ad-identity team, you'll work at the intersection of business strategy and technical innovation. Your day might include conducting customer interviews to uncover unmet needs in the advertising identity space, collaborating with engineering teams to evaluate technical feasibility of new product concepts, or presenting market insights to senior leadership to inform our roadmap priorities. You'll balance deep dives into industry trends with cross-functional planning sessions, working alongside data scientists, engineers, and business partners to move initiatives from concept to launch. You'll also engage with external ad-tech partners and industry organizations to understand emerging standards and position Amazon as a thought leader in advertising identity solutions.
About the team Our Ad-Identity team forms the backbone of Amazon's programmatic advertising business and supports multiple teams in the advertising ecosystem. You'll join a dynamic, entrepreneurial team that leverages Amazon's scale and resources to deliver innovative solutions.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree - 10+ years of technical product or program management experience - 3+ years of end to end product delivery experience - Experience technical product management - Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product - Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition - Experience leading engineering discussions around technology decisions and strategy related to a product - Experience leading cross-organizational programs and setting and holding teams and individuals to timelines and deliverables without explicit authority
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working directly with Engineers on product enhancements - Experience in project management methodologies, business analysis, or process improvement - Experience owning data-centric products - Experience with and deep understanding of advertising technologies (i.e., ad server, DSP)
