The Psychiatric Associate is responsible for delivering patient care and maintaining a therapeutic environment under the direction of a Registered Nurse. Key duties include conducting safety checks, performing de-escalation interventions, and assisting patients with daily living routines.
Requires at least 2 years of experience in mental health, healthcare, or school settings, with demonstrated experience working with high-acuity behavioral needs. BLS certification is required, and a bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred.
We at Fairview are looking for a Psychiatric Assistant to join our outstanding Behavioral Float Pool! All Psych Associates and RNs report to a nurse manager. The float pool consists of approximately 30 RNs and 60 Psych Associates; and serves a wide spectrum of patients within the Behavioral Health department including child/adolescents, adults, and seniors.
We are conveniently located on the West Bank of the Mississippi River near downtown Minneapolis!
This role is approved for 56 hours, every two weeks on the night shift, 11:00PM - 7:30AM, working 8 hour shifts and every other weekend with a variable schedule. This position is SEIU benefit eligible.
The Psych Associate is responsible for the delivery of patient care and promotion of a therapeutic environment as delegated by and under the direction of the Registered Nurse so that goals and objectives of treatment are achieved on each unit as assigned.
