About the Role
The Social Media Specialist is responsible for translating GuardMe's strategic business objectives into compelling content that engages both institutional partners (B2B) and students (B2C). Reporting to the Marketing Manager, as an integral part of the Marketing team, this role is responsible for the full social media content lifecycle— from strategy development, business development lead generation and content creation to publishing, community engagement, performance analysis, and optimization.

Key Responsibilities
Social Media Strategy & Planning
Develop and execute comprehensive social media strategies aligned with organizational goals and marketing initiatives.
Create and maintain content calendars across key social platforms, including LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, X (Twitter), YouTube, and TikTok.
Develop weekly, monthly, and quarterly social media plans that drive engagement, brand awareness, and audience growth.
Continuously optimize content strategies based on audience insights, analytics, and platform trends.
Content Creation & Campaign Management
Create engaging written, visual, and video content that reflects the GuardMe brand and resonates with target audiences.
Write compelling copy for social media posts, campaigns, and digital initiatives.
Design visual assets using Canva and collaborate with internal teams on creative development.
Produce and coordinate YouTube content and supporting promotional materials.
Develop innovative social media campaigns that generate engagement and strengthen brand loyalty.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Under the direction of the Marketing Manager and VP, Strategic Partnerships, create and execute strategic business development lead generation activities.
Work closely with internal teams including but not limited to the Sales (Business Development) organization to support content development and campaign execution.
Contribute creative ideas and strategic recommendations to support broader business objectives.
Community Engagement & Brand Management
Foster meaningful interactions with audiences across social media platforms.
Maintain brand consistency by ensuring a unified tone of voice, visual identity, and messaging across all channels.
Support integrated marketing initiatives by aligning social media activities with broader online and offline campaigns.
Represent GuardMe at conferences and strategic industry forums by delivering a compelling brand presence, cultivating high-value relationships, and proactively identifying opportunities for audience growth, partnership development, and market expansion.
Analytics & Performance Optimization
Monitor, analyze, and report on key performance metrics, including engagement, reach, traffic acquisition, audience growth, and conversions.
Conduct ongoing testing of content, messaging, and media formats to identify opportunities for improvement.
Prepare regular performance reports and provide actionable recommendations to management and leadership.
Market Research & Industry Monitoring
Research audience preferences, behaviours, and emerging trends to inform content strategies.
Monitor competitor activities and social media performance, identifying opportunities to strengthen GuardMe's presence.
Stay current on platform updates, algorithm changes, emerging features, and industry best practices to maximize effectiveness.
Knowledge & Compliance
Maintain expert knowledge of GuardMe's full suite of products and services.
Read, acknowledge, and comply with all policies and procedures of the organization.
Attend privacy and security training during onboarding and annually thereafter.
Immediately notify the Privacy Office of any incident or potential incident involving unauthorized access, use, copying, alteration, or disclosure of personal information.
Work collaboratively with the Privacy Office to gather information, implement corrective actions, and submit privacy incident reports as necessary.
Comply with all business policies and procedures, including annual privacy and security training.
Immediately report any potential or actual privacy or security incidents to the Privacy Office.

Experience and Education
Experience
Minimum 3 years of experience in social media marketing, digital marketing, or a related role.
Proven track record managing social media channels and executing successful campaigns, including content planning, creation, and community management.
Strong understanding of social media platforms, audience engagement strategies, and content best practices.
Experience using social media management and analytics tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Meta Business Suite, LinkedIn Analytics, Google Analytics), with the ability to analyze data and translate insights into actionable recommendations.
Exceptional writing, editing, proofreading, storytelling, and communication skills.
Strong organizational, time management, and project management abilities, with experience managing multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively, build relationships, and maintain a positive, customer-focused approach.
Experience in international education, student services, insurance, mental wellness, or healthcare sectors is considered an asset.
Familiarity with creative and marketing tools such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Canva; experience with Adobe Experience Manager (AEM), Adobe Journey Optimizer (AJO), and Customer Journey Analytics (CJA) is an asset.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
Fluency in spoken and written English is required; French language skills are considered an asset.
