The BIM Coordinator manages BIM process standards, technology support, and coordination efforts using Navisworks Manage. They are responsible for running clash detection studies, facilitating 3D model exchanges, and providing technical guidance to project teams and field crews.
Requires 4-7 years of AEC industry experience with a specific focus on industrial or advanced manufacturing projects. A high school diploma is required, while an associate or bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, or Construction is preferred.
The BIM Coordinator will work within the BIM department, reporting to the BIM Department Manager. This role works closely with project-level management teams and Hoffman's IT Team on BIM process standards, technology support, and training.
The BIM Coordinator will provide day-to-day guidance and mentoring to less experienced team members, supporting proficiency in Navisworks and adherence to project modeling and coordination standards.
Technical Skills
Trained in design document reading, specifications, survey theory, and field techniques.
Professional Skills
Must work in both office and active construction site environments, spending more than 50% of time stationary.
Must access all site areas and levels, including climbing stairs, ascending/descending ladders, and entering confined or underground spaces.
Must work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Must lift or manipulate up to 50 lbs to a height of three feet and carry or push it 50–100 feet. Frequent bending, twisting, kneeling, crouching, and crawling required for examining project work. Constantly operates computers and standard office equipment.
Must hold a valid driver's license and safely operate a vehicle.
Must apply independent judgment, critical thinking, and organizational skills to analyze data, transcribe information, interpret printed and digital documents, and determine the best method to accomplish desired results.
