The Staff Pharmacist is responsible for preparing, labeling, and dispensing medications while ensuring compliance with quality standards and safety protocols. They also supervise support staff and provide drug information services to patients and caregivers.
Candidates must hold a Baccalaureate or PharmD degree from an accredited school of pharmacy and possess a valid State Board of Pharmacy license. BLS certification and the ability to meet specific physical demands, such as standing for long periods, are also required.

This position description provides a general overview of the type of work performed by employees within this classification. Depending on the facility, job duties may vary. Staff Pharmacists report directly to the Pharmacist in Charge.
The Staff Pharmacist will have strong communication skills and be able to perform detailed work. Work is accomplished in accordance with the policies and regulations of local, state, and federal authorities as well as accepted standards of practice.

The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
