The Staff Accountant is responsible for general ledger management, month-end close procedures, and ensuring financial compliance with GAAP and hospital policies. Key duties include preparing journal entries, performing account reconciliations, and maintaining the fixed asset subledger.
Requires a Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance and 2-4 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a healthcare setting. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with large-scale ERP systems are essential.

Work Experience: Minimum of 2-4 years of progressive accounting experience in the management of financial systems and budgets, financial reporting, financial data analysis, and auditing. Prior experience in healthcare, hospital or clinical accounting is highly preferred. Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and auditing principles.
Physical Demands & Working Conditions: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, grasp, handle, or feel and to reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, see, speak, and hear. The employee is occasionally required to kneel, climb, or balance. Special Requirements: ● Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., PivotTables, VLOOKUPs, index/match, and complex formulas). Experience with large-scale Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and healthcare financial systems (e.g., Lawson, Workday, Oracle, Meditech, or Epic). Experience with Meditech Magic, Client Server or Expanse preferred. Solid understanding of GAAP and internal control frameworks. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with high attention to detail. Excellent written and verbal communication skills to explain financial concepts to non-financial clinical staff. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities during close periods. Strong organizational skills. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-function teams. High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and professional judgment. Ability to comply with attendance requirements and comply with Human Resource policies.
