The System Administrator II owns the end-to-end network and connectivity infrastructure, including switching, routing, firewalls, and wireless systems. They also provide on-site Level 1 IT support for hardware and peripherals as needed.
Candidates should have 5+ years of experience in network administration with strong fundamentals in TCP/IP, routing, and security. A bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field is required or equivalent practical experience.
About the role
The System Administrator II - Network owns our network and connectivity infrastructure end to end across sites, from core switching and routing to wireless, firewalls, and VPN. This role is the network subject matter expert on the IT team and keeps our locations reliably connected, secure, and performant, working closely with the IT Director and site teams. As the IT team member based at this location, the role also handles occasional Level 1 IT tasks that need to be done in person (no more than about four hours per week) and works a hybrid schedule, with on-site attendance expected when required. This role is posted in Chicago, IL or Las Vegas, NV. Early priorities include documenting the current network, closing security gaps, and standardizing configuration across sites.
