An engineer on the Strategic Customer Engineering team plays a critical role in aligning technical details across various service teams, collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders, and driving end-to-end execution of complex projects. This engineer will design, coordinate, and execute technical solutions that have huge impact to our customer experience and scalability. Understanding various cloud technologies and technical trade-offs, the ideal candidate will be an exceptionally strong communicator, both written and verbally, have a well-rounded technical background, and come with a history of leading large-scale projects end-to-end.
Qualifications
Your experience should be both deep and wide-ranging, with strengths in internetworking, cloud infrastructure, Linux system internals, workflow scalability, and organizational effectiveness.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent work experience.
8+ years distributed cloud engineering experience in a software development environment
Development experience in Java/C++/C# as well as scripting languages. Experience in scripting and automation using tools like Ansible, Terraform, and/or Kubernetes.
Experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) and orchestration tools for managing distributed systems.
Strong Linux skills with hands-on experience in Oracle Linux/RHEL/CentOS, Ubuntu, and Debian distributions, including system administration, package management, shell scripting, and performance optimization.
Experience working with other cloud platform teams and accommodating requirements from those teams (compute, networking, storage, identity).
Solid understanding of networking concepts, security principles, and best practices.
Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues and drive resolution in a fast-paced environment.
Written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex information in a clear, concise manner to all audiences
Strong documentation skills with experience documenting infrastructure designs, configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps to facilitate knowledge sharing, ensure maintainability, and enhance team collaboration.
