About Volta
Volta is the category-defining, fully vertically integrated AI infrastructure platform – from capital to clusters to software, under a founder-led enterprise. Our mission is The Utility of Compute™: AI infrastructure as dependable and available as electricity, for every organization that needs it. Launched with a $10B strategic partnership with one of the leading frontier AI labs, a Series A led by Andreessen Horowitz, and a $5B AI Infrastructure Fund, Volta is building the infrastructure layer of the AI era from the ground up. We are 100+ people across London, Palo Alto, and New York, with rapid growth expectations to hundreds.
About The Role
The Group Product Manager, Control Plane, owns the product strategy for the systems that manage and orchestrate Volta's compute, storage, and networking resources — the Kubernetes-native control layer that makes the platform work. You will lead a team of product managers shaping how the control plane evolves as the fleet scales.
This is a deeply technical product leadership role at the core of Volta's platform, where the decisions you make directly shape how reliably and efficiently the entire fleet runs.
What You Will Be Doing
Own product strategy and roadmap for Volta's control plane — the Kubernetes-native layer managing compute, storage, and networking lifecycle
Lead and develop a team of product managers focused on control plane capabilities
Work closely with platform engineering to translate customer and operational needs into control plane features
Prioritize the roadmap based on customer impact, operational reliability, and platform scalability
Partner with the bring-up and operations teams to identify and address operational pain points
Define success metrics for control plane capabilities and track outcomes post-launch
Represent control plane priorities in cross-functional and leadership planning
Communicate roadmap and rationale clearly to engineering, leadership, and customers as needed
What You Bring
Significant product management experience in infrastructure, platform, or developer tools is essential
Experience managing other product managers or leading a product team
Deep understanding of Kubernetes and cloud infrastructure control plane concepts
Strong technical fluency, comfortable partnering closely with engineering
A track record shipping infrastructure products that scale
Excellent prioritization and stakeholder communication skills
