About Our Family
We're a warm, busy, and high-energy household in the heart of Navy Yard. Our family consists of a recently engaged working mom to two spirited girls, and we're excitedly settling into a larger home after returning from living abroad. Life moves fast between a demanding career, frequent travel, and the joyful chaos of family life - our household needs someone who can be a trusted partner, keep our home running smoothly and bring a sense of calm to our everyday routines.
We love a tidy, organized, and well-stocked home, but with two active kids and a full calendar, it's hard to stay ahead of everything. Between busy weekdays and two active girls, there's always laundry to tackle, household organization to stay on top of, and afternoons and evenings that benefit from an extra set of capable hands. We are looking for someone who genuinely enjoys creating order, anticipating what needs to be done, and building household systems that help our home feel organized, welcoming, and well cared for.
We've had wonderful household support in the past and know how much of a difference the right person can make. We’re not looking for someone who simply checks off a to-do list, but someone who takes pride in their work, enjoys being part of a warm and conversational household, and finds satisfaction in helping a busy family thrive. If that sounds like you, we'd love to meet you.
Who You Are / What We're Looking For
You are a proactive, highly organized self-starter who anticipates needs before being asked and takes genuine pride in helping a home run smoothly. You think like a project manager—you notice when supplies are running low, spot patterns before they become problems, and put simple, effective systems in place that make daily life easier for everyone. You're reliable, punctual, and trustworthy, and you bring a steady, reassuring presence to everything you do, with a natural ability to keep things moving forward without needing close oversight.
You're comfortable with children and know how to be warm, engaging, and caring while also holding clear, consistent boundaries. You follow household expectations with confidence and ease, and you're not easily swayed by two spirited girls who will test limits and push for negotiation when they can. You’re able to redirect with patience and clarity, stay consistent even in the face of pushback, and build relationships that feel both fun and respectful—creating a sense of trust and structure that children can rely on.
You're also someone who works independently and confidently without needing constant direction or reminders. You take initiative, manage your time well, and naturally look for ways to improve how the household functions day to day, stepping in where needed and staying ahead of tasks rather than reacting to them. An ability to understand how different people rely on structure in different ways—and to build flexible, thoughtful systems that actually stick—will be especially valuable here, as it helps ensure the home runs smoothly and sustainably over time. You take pride in creating a home that runs smoothly, feels welcoming, and allows our family to focus on what matters most.
