The Success Coach manages a caseload of middle and high school students to foster autonomy, self-advocacy, and executive functioning skills. Responsibilities include conducting weekly coaching sessions, facilitating workshops, and maintaining detailed documentation of student progress.
Applicants must be current Federal Work-Study eligible UVA undergraduate or graduate students. Prior experience in youth development, mentoring, or education is preferred, along with strong communication and organizational skills.
The Student Success Coach plays a pivotal role in empowering middle and high school students to navigate their academic, personal, and career readiness pathways. The Success Coach focuses on fostering student autonomy, self-advocacy, and executive functioning. Managing a dedicated caseload, the Coach serves as a strategic mentor, partner, and advocate, ensuring every student has universal access to the tools and opportunities needed to thrive.
Caseload Oversight: Actively manage and support a dedicated caseload of approximately 5-10 students, tracking their overall well-being, engagement, and progress.
Academic Intervention: Provide targeted academic support when needed, helping students navigate challenges and connect to broader resources.
Meticulous Documentation: Maintain timely, accurate, and confidential digital logs to document all coaching sessions, goals, and intervention strategies.
Continuous Learning: Attend and actively participate in all mandatory training sessions, professional learning communities, and onboarding to align coaching methodologies with organizational standards.
Compensation: $18/hr.
Scheduled hours: Flexible work between 9:00am - 4:00pm. Monday - Friday.
