Job Title: Community Connections & Safety Services Supervisor
Department: Foster Care
Status: Full-time, Exempt
Reports To: Associate Program Director
Starting Pay: $72,125 annually
PURPOSE: The Community Connections & Safety Services Supervisor directly supervises and supports the Community Connection and Safety Services Case Managers. This position ensures case management services are being provided to the highest standard within agency, state, and federal guidelines.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supervises Community Connection & Safety Services Case Managers by developing internal monitoring, weekly supervision, and evaluation processes.
Upholds effective and consistent communication between the Community Connection & Safety Services Case Managers and all parties of the case and identified stakeholders, including medical, educational and mental health providers.
Ensures Community Connection & Safety Services Case Managers conduct visits with children, parents and/or caregivers that include the on-going assessment of child safety, permanency and well-being.
Verify and confirms Community Connection & Safety Services Case Managers meet the requirements and service standards when facilitating delivery of services in collaboration with families and youth that adhere to agency, state, and federal policies/procedures.
Provides direct case management to OCC referrals when needed, as determined by the Child and Family Services Leadership team.
Confirms there is an understanding and the Safety Services Case Manager has the ability to manage the impending danger plan as written.
Communicates and collaborates with the assigned Intact Case Management team on Safety Services referrals.
Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE REQUIRED/PREFERRED:
Degree/Field Required: Master's degree in social work or a closely related Human Services field (Related fields will be considered.)
Experience Required: Minimum 2 years of experience in working with children and/or families (For positions that manage staff, the years specified need to be progressive years of management experience. For all positions, the years required can be interchanged with equivalent experience from an advanced degree related to this job and/or with other relevant experience verified by applicant/incumbent).
Manager-Specific: Demonstrated leadership, supervision, coaching, and employee development skills. Ability to provide performance feedback, monitor compliance, and support professional growth of case management staff.
Basic: Strong written and verbal communication skills, organization, documentation accuracy, critical thinking, and attention to detail. Ability to interpret and apply agency policies, procedures, and child welfare regulations.
Social: Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with children, families, caregivers, DCFS personnel, service providers, community partners, and internal stakeholders. Demonstrates professionalism, collaboration, and conflict resolution skills.
Problem Solving/Decision-Making: Ability to assess complex family situations, identify service gaps and safety concerns, exercise sound judgment, and make timely decisions that support child safety, permanency, and well-being. Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities while meeting deadlines and regulatory requirements.
Proficient Computer Skills In: Outlook, database management software, and virtual communication platforms.
Expert Computer Skills In: Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word, and electronic case management/documentation systems.
Resource Management: Ability to manage staff workloads, monitor service delivery, coordinate community resources, and ensure efficient utilization of program and agency resources. Ability to oversee case assignment distribution and maintain program performance standards.
Technical: Ability to monitor case documentation, evaluate compliance with agency, state, and federal requirements, analyze case trends, and support quality improvement initiatives.
Trauma-Informed: Must display a willingness to adopt trauma informed interventions, principles, and practices as well as commitment to ongoing development of their capacity for application of trauma informed care. Realizes the prevalence of trauma among persons served by Caritas and the general population. Recognizes how trauma affects everyone involved-including clients, their families, staff, and community; and impacts behaviors. Responds to trauma by actively implementing the guiding principles of trauma informed care into their daily practice. Resists re-traumatization of persons served and staff providing services, by creating safe, welcoming, and supportive environments.
