The Sterile Processing Technician is responsible for the decontamination, cleaning, assembly, and sterilization of surgical instruments and equipment. They also provide support for case carts and ensure all sterile processing protocols are followed to maintain patient safety.
Candidates must be at least 18 years old and meet the required principle competencies for the role. Preferred qualifications include a high school diploma or GED and certification from CBSPD or CRCST.
Provides sterile equipment and supplies to surgery and other departments as required. This work includes decontamination, cleaning, sterilization and processing of supplies and equipment, following guidelines from federal and state agencies, manufacturer and hospital infection control.
