Balto is looking for a scrappy, driven Business Development Representative (BDR) to help fuel our sales pipeline and drive revenue growth. As a BDR, you'll be the first point of contact for potential customers, engaging in outbound prospecting to identify and connect with key decision-makers. Your mission is to generate interest in Balto's AI-powered solutions through creative, resourceful outreach across cold calling, email, and social selling, and to figure out what works when the obvious path doesn't. This role reports to the Director of Demand Generation and Marketing Operations, and you'll work very closely with both the Marketing and Sales teams to sharpen messaging, test new plays, and contribute directly to sales success.
This is a Dallas-based hybrid role. We're looking for someone local to the Dallas and Fort Worth metroplex who can meet with the team in person at least once per week. For your first six weeks, you'll meet in person three times per week so you can ramp fast, absorb the playbook, and build strong working relationships from day one. Our sales and marketing teams are tightly connected, and in-person collaboration is a big part of how we win.
You are relentlessly resourceful and you refuse to fail. When something isn't working, you don't wait to be told what to do. You try three more things, ask better questions, and find a way through. You're comfortable being uncomfortable, and you treat every "no" as information rather than a wall.
You're AI-savvy and genuinely curious about how AI is reshaping sales. You already reach for AI tools to research prospects, draft outreach, and work smarter, and you're excited to sell an AI-powered product to people who need to understand it. You don't need to be an engineer. You just need to be the kind of person who leans into new technology instead of away from it.
You have great people skills and can build rapport quickly, uncover what a prospect actually needs, and clearly connect it to how Balto solves real business problems. You bring maturity and a track record of proven responsibility, maybe as a college athlete, a career changer, or someone who excelled in a completely different field, and now you're hungry to break into tech and sales. You don't have to have done this exact job before. You just have to be someone who has overcome real challenges and consistently found a way to deliver.
