Full job description

Join Us in Shaping the Future of AI: Become an Marketing Events Manager at Balto!

About the Role

Balto is building the AI Workforce for contact centers, and our events are working. Trade shows are driving pipeline, private dinners are landing the meetings that matter, and it is time for someone to own it all. We are hiring our first dedicated Marketing Events Manager to run the whole show.

This is a builder's role. You will own our event strategy and execution end to end, from national trade shows to intimate executive dinners, and you will be the person who turns a packed room into real pipeline. If your idea of a good time involves a color-coded run-of-show, a booth that actually stops traffic, and a follow-up plan that fires before the badges hit the trash, keep reading.

Think of it as a step up from "help with the booth." You will own programs end to end, from the big idea to the "here is what the numbers say" readout. This is a remote role open to candidates in the U.S., with regular travel to events.

What You'll Own

Event Strategy & Calendar

  • Own Balto's event calendar across trade shows, conferences, and private / field events: what we do, where we show up, and why
  • Tier events by opportunity and set clear goals for each one (pipeline, meetings, brand)
  • Build the annual plan and the playbooks that make each event repeatable and better than the last
  • Coordinate with different departments to take advantage of team travel and optimize for the most in person engagement with prospects and customers.

Trade Shows & Conferences

  • Own sponsorship strategy, booth presence, and everything behind the scenes: contracts, shipping, staffing, and the run-of-show
  • Be the on-site lead who makes it run: setup, staffing, troubleshooting, and a Plan B for when something goes sideways. You won’t be at every event, but make sure the people who are there know what to do.
  • Capture and qualify meetings on the floor so nothing walks away without

Private & Field Events

  • Design and run executive dinners, roundtables, hospitality suites, and customer / user events that people actually remember
  • Nail the details that make a small event feel exclusive: the guest list, the venue, the flow, the follow-up
  • Partner with Sales to fill the room with the right accounts, not just any accounts

Pipeline & Sales Partnership

  • Turn events into pipeline: partner with Sales and BDRs on target-account lists, pre-event outreach, and on-site meeting-setting
  • Own the follow-up the moment an event ends: segmented lists, timely outreach, and a clear next step for every attendee and no-show
  • Tighten the handoff so event leads get worked fast and nothing slips through the cracks

Budget & Vendor Management

  • Own your event budgets and spend them like they are your own money
  • Negotiate and manage venues, vendors, agencies, and contractors, and hold them to the standard
  • Keep every event on budget without cutting the corners that matter

Measurement & Reporting

  • Track what each event actually drove: pipeline sourced and influenced, meetings booked, cost per opportunity
  • Report results in a way that is honest and useful, then use it to make the next event better
  • Keep event data clean in HubSpot so routing, reporting, and follow-up all run on signal you can trust

Marketing Ops + Automation

  • Own your corner of HubSpot for events: registration, reminders, follow-up flows, and attribution
  • Set up automations that work while you are catching a flight to the next show
  • Keep the data clean so BDR follow-up and reporting run on signal, not guesswork

Experiments

  • Launch fast, learn faster: test new event formats, new markets, new booth ideas, and new follow-up plays
  • If an event type is not driving pipeline, say so and change it. If a weird new format is working, double down.

Special Projects

  • First-ever user conference? Let's go. A pop-up activation at a show no one else is sponsoring? Fair game.
  • If it drives pipeline and builds the brand, you will have room to play.

What You Bring to the Table

You don't need to have done every single one of these. But the more that sound like you, the better:

  • Roughly 3 to 5+ years in event marketing or field marketing, ideally at a B2B SaaS company
  • Experience running events for a B2B SaaS tech company (this one is a must, not a nice-to-have)
  • Experience owning events end to end, from strategy and budget to on-site execution and post-event follow-up
  • Extremely detail-oriented. You catch the wrong load-in time, the missing shipment, and the typo on the booth graphic before anyone else does
  • Genuinely excited to build and create from the ground up, not just maintain a calendar someone else set up
  • Experience working with Sales and BDR / SDR teams to turn events into meetings and pipeline
  • Comfortable owning a budget and holding vendors, venues, and agencies to a high standard
  • Calm under pressure, resourceful on-site, and always working the next contingency
  • You know your way around HubSpot and event / lead-capture tools, and you can read the numbers that tell you what worked
  • You write killer copy that gets people to show up, not just "clever," but effective
  • You are data-obsessed and results-driven: if an event does not move the needle, you change it

Preferred:

  • You have worked on a small events team (one to three people), where you owned a lot and figured out the rest yourself

You're AI-Native

Balto doesn't just build AI, we live it. AI is how we work every single day. We need a builder, not someone who occasionally asks ChatGPT a question. If you're not...

  • Building your own GPTs, agents, or custom workflows (not just prompting a chatbot)
  • Using AI to actually make things: event invites, follow-up sequences, recap content, landing pages, and outreach at scale
  • Wiring AI into event ops: list segmentation, lead enrichment, personalization, and reporting
  • Following the latest drops from OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, Meta, and xAI, and putting them to work fast

...then Balto might not be the right place for you. But if that does sound like you? You're going to feel right at home.

Bonus Points For

  • Experience with user conferences or your own flagship event
  • Hands-on ABM or intent-data chops to fuel event targeting
  • Building a personal brand or community in the marketing and events space

Balto is building the AI Workforce for the modern contact center. Customer support and sales teams are entering a new era. As AI takes on more routine conversations, the work left for human representatives is no longer simple. These calls are more complex, more emotional, more regulated, and more valuable. Every remaining conversation carries real weight for revenue, compliance, and brand trust. The contact center is becoming a place where every interaction defines the relationship. But most AI in the contact center today is fragmented. Teams stitch together tools for real-time guidance, post-call insights, quality assurance, automation, and voice bots, each operating in its own silo. The result is a patchwork of point solutions that improve pieces of the workflow but never the workforce as a whole. And when a customer moves from a fast, competent AI interaction to a human who lacks context, the experience falls apart. This is the drop-off problem, and fragmented tools cannot solve it. Balto takes a different approach. We built a single, coordinated system for the contact center that brings real-time guidance, automation, quality, insights, and AI agents together in one place. Every conversation, whether handled by a human or AI, runs through the same system and feeds back into it. AI and human representatives operate under shared standards, shared QA, and shared accountability. The result is not just a set of tools, but a workforce that learns from every conversation and gets better with every call.
