Role Overview
We are seeking a Product Information Management (PIM) Manager to own and optimize product data across a complex, high-SKU, omnichannel retail environment. This individual will serve as the primary owner of the PIM system and product data ecosystem, ensuring a single source of truth that supports consistent, accurate, and high-quality product content across all digital and sales channels.
This is a hands-on, individual contributor role responsible for data governance, system optimization, content readiness, and cross-functional execution. The PIM Manager will play a critical role in enabling faster time-to-market, improving customer experience, and supporting scalable eCommerce growth.
Key Responsibilities
PIM System Ownership & Data Operations
Own and manage the Product Information Management (PIM) system, ensuring product data is accurate, complete, and consistent across all platforms
Oversee the publication, syndication, and synchronization of product data to eCommerce sites, marketplaces, and channel partners
Maintain and optimize integrations between PIM and upstream/downstream systems (e.g., ERP, CMS, eCommerce platforms)
Troubleshoot PIM-related data and system issues to ensure uninterrupted product data operations
Data Governance, Quality & Enrichment
Establish and enforce data governance frameworks, validation rules, and quality standards
Drive product data enrichment, classification, and standardization across attributes, taxonomy, and digital assets
Conduct audits and quality checks to identify and resolve data inconsistencies or gaps
Define and monitor KPIs related to data quality, completeness, and time-to-market
Product Content & Catalog Management
Develop and maintain scalable data models, taxonomies, and product hierarchies to support large product catalogs
Ensure product content (descriptions, specifications, images, and attributes) is complete, structured, and optimized for digital channels
Support product launches by ensuring data readiness across all required systems and channels
AI-Enabled Content & Automation
Leverage AI tools and prompt development to scale and optimize product content (titles, bullets, descriptions), ensuring outputs meet brand, SEO, GEO/AEO, and channel requirements
Develop, test, and refine prompts to improve the accuracy, consistency, and quality of AI-generated product content
Establish best practices for integrating AI-generated content into PIM workflows, ensuring alignment with data governance and content standards
Partner with Marketing and eCommerce teams to validate AI-generated outputs and continuously improve content performance
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner closely with Marketing, eCommerce, Product, IT, and Supply teams to gather, validate, and structure product data
Act as the central point of contact for all product data and PIM-related initiatives
Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure alignment on product requirements, workflows, and content strategies
Provide training and support to internal teams on PIM processes and best practices
Process Design & Continuous Improvement
Translate business needs into scalable PIM workflows, data structures, and system configurations
Analyze new product and data requirements and define appropriate processes, interfaces, and standards
Identify and implement workflow automations and process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce manual effort
Support system enhancements, testing, and ongoing optimization initiatives
Standards & Compliance
Ensure product data aligns with applicable industry standards, classifications, and channel requirements
Support consistent formatting and compliance for data exchange across partners and platforms
Qualifications
