Role and Responsibilities
Samsung Electronics America is seeking a dynamic, strategic, and highly motivated Director of Internal Communications & Samsung US Newsroom to lead two critical pillars of our corporate communications function. This dual-mandate role is responsible for driving an internal communications program that informs, engages, and connects Samsung employees across the United States, while simultaneously overseeing the Samsung US Newsroom — a powerful owned content platform that amplifies the company's voice, stories, and thought leadership to external audiences.
Reporting to the Senior Director of Corporate Communications, this individual will serve as a communications leader who is equally comfortable crafting a compelling CEO message as they are analyzing newsroom traffic metrics. The ideal candidate is a self-starter, a creative problem solver, and a results-driven professional who consistently looks for smarter, more innovative ways to communicate — and who understands that great communication drives business outcomes.
This role will manage a small team and collaborate cross-functionally with HR, Legal, Marketing, Lines of Business PR teams, Executive Leadership, and external agency partners to deliver integrated, high-impact communications programs.
Key Responsibilities
Internal Communications
Develop and execute a comprehensive internal communications strategy that aligns with Samsung Electronics America's business priorities, culture, and values
Serve as the lead communications partner for HR, partnering closely to support people-first communications including organizational announcements, benefits and compensation updates, culture initiatives, talent programs, performance cycles, and employee policy changes
Own and manage CEO and executive communications, including drafting executive messages, talking points, internal speeches, video scripts, and thought leadership content that authentically represents leadership's voice
Plan, produce, and manage company-wide town halls and all-hands meetings, overseeing logistics, content development, run-of-show, Q&A strategy, and post-event follow-up communications
Manage the company intranet, ensuring it serves as an engaging, intuitive, and informative hub for employees; oversee content governance, platform updates and user experience enhancements
Oversee the strategy, content, and operations of digital signage across Samsung US offices and facilities, ensuring messaging is timely, on-brand, visually compelling, and relevant to on-site employees
Establish and manage an internal editorial calendar that ensures consistent, well-timed, and strategically aligned communications across all internal channels
Build and maintain strong relationships with business unit leaders, HR business partners, and executive stakeholders to surface and prioritize communications needs across the organization
Samsung US Newsroom
Lead the editorial direction and day-to-day operations of the Samsung US Newsroom, Samsung's owned media platform for press releases, product stories, and corporate news
Own the end-to-end strategy, content development, and day-to-day management of the Samsung Electronics America LinkedIn company page, ensuring it serves as a premier destination for employees, prospective talent, media, industry partners, and business audiences
Manage the editorial calendar for the newsroom and LinkedIn, working in partnership with PR, product communications, and marketing teams to plan, sequence, and publish content that supports key business moments, product launches, and corporate milestones
Oversee all back-end operations and website management, including platform maintenance, performance optimization, CMS administration, and coordination with agency and web development partners on technical enhancements and site updates
Develop and publish compelling owned content and storytelling — including feature articles, executive bylines, innovation stories, corporate responsibility narratives, and multimedia content — that positions Samsung as a leader in its industry
Ensure all content published to the newsroom meets the highest standards of accuracy, brand voice, AP style, and legal compliance, managing an internal review and approval process efficiently and effectively
Monitor and analyze newsroom performance metrics, including traffic, engagement, content reach, and media pickup, delivering regular reports and insights to leadership and key stakeholders
Identify opportunities for platform innovation, including new content formats, multimedia integrations, GEO improvements, and enhanced user experience features that keep the Samsung US Newsroom at the forefront of owned media excellence
Team & Agency Management
Lead a small internal communications and newsroom team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, creativity, and continuous learning
Manage relationships with external agencies and vendors supporting internal communications and newsroom operations, ensuring quality deliverables, adherence to timelines, and efficient use of budget
Manage departmental budgets with fiscal discipline and strategic prioritization
Skills and Qualifications
Required
12+ years of progressive communications experience, with a strong track record in both internal communications and content/editorial management
Demonstrated expertise in employee communications, including HR communications, change management, and organizational announcements
Proven experience writing and managing CEO and C-suite executive communications with the ability to capture and articulate leadership voice with precision and authenticity
Experience planning and executing town halls and all-hands events, both in-person and virtually
Hands-on experience managing a corporate intranet, including content strategy, governance, platform administration, and user engagement
Experience overseeing digital signage programs in a corporate environment
Demonstrated experience running or contributing to a corporate newsroom or owned media platform, including CMS management, content publishing, editorial planning, and performance reporting
Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills, with the ability to translate complex business topics into clear, engaging, and compelling narratives
Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data, generate insights, and use metrics to drive communications strategy
Experience managing and developing communications professionals, with a collaborative and empowering leadership style
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, matrixed organization, with a high degree of professionalism and attention to detail
Proficiency with CMS platforms (WordPress, Drupal, or similar), intranet platforms (SharePoint, Simpplr, or similar), and digital signage systems
Proficiency with analytics tools (Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, or similar) and communications measurement platforms
