About the role
The Senior Manager, Data Engineering & Business Intelligence, is a hybrid player-coach role instrumental in taking new ideas in the data and artificial intelligence (AI) landscape and cultivating them into positive business outcomes. This role helps create a culture of innovation by shaping the processes needed for forward movement across the enterprise. The ideal candidate blends high-level project discovery and team leadership with hands-on technical execution. They possess strong business knowledge in a retail environment working across multiple business models (B2B, B2C, E-commerce, and brick & mortar). The candidate must have a solid, practical background in the Data and BI space – specifically spanning hands-on data engineering, data reporting, analytics, and data governance.
Responsibilities
Tech Delivery & Hands-On Engineering
Hands-on Development: Actively write, review, and optimize production-grade code (PySpark, SQL) to build scalable data pipelines, data architectures, and delta tables.
Project Discovery & Team Management
Stakeholder Collaboration & Partnerships
Change Agent: Drive the internal adoption of modernized modern data warehouse concepts and maintain alignment between technical output and retail business goals.

Working conditions & physical requirements
This will be a hybrid role required to be onsite at the Corporate office on specified days. The work environment generally involves everyday risks or discomforts which require normal safety precautions typical of such places as offices, meeting and training rooms, retail stores, and residences or commercial vehicles, e.g., use of safe work practices with office equipment, avoidance of trips and falls, observance of fire regulations and traffic signals, etc. The work area is adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated.
The work is sedentary; however, occasional travel to company locations may be required. Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items such as papers, files, books, small parts; using a keyboard, driving an automobile, etc. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.
