Full job description
ABOUT ROCKET DOCTOR
Rocket Doctor is a digital health platform and marketplace that breaks down obstacles limiting access to quality, comprehensive, and cost-effective healthcare. Our proprietary technology equips doctors with the tools and infrastructure to operate successful virtual and hybrid practices and deliver care to patients who have historically faced difficulty accessing it, including rural communities and patients covered by Medicaid and Medicare.
By combining virtual care, connected medical devices, and emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence and machine learning, Rocket Doctor is building new ways to connect patients with equitable, accessible healthcare regardless of age, location, or financial circumstances.
Rocket Doctor has supported hundreds of physicians and hundreds of thousands of patient visits across Canada and is continuing to expand its physician network and clinical programs throughout the United States, with an initial focus on California, New York, and Maryland.
Notable Highlights:
Rocket Doctor joined Rocket Doctor AI (formerly Treatment.com AI), becoming a publicly-traded company in the Spring of 2025.
We have been selected as a clinical partner for grant-funded programs supporting senior care in New York City and care for marginalized urban populations.
We have established relationships with major government and commercial payers in our active U.S. markets.
We are preparing to expand our physician network and clinical services in Florida.
This is an opportunity to help shape Rocket Doctor’s growth in Florida at an early stage and expand access to high-quality care across the state.
DESCRIPTION:
The Florida Physician Lead will help develop and support Rocket Doctor’s physician network and clinical operations in Florida.
Working closely with the U.S. Medical Director, other Physician Leads, and Rocket Doctor’s Provider Success, Credentialing, Operations, and Product teams, the Florida Physician Lead will:
Help shape Rocket Doctor’s clinical launch strategy in Florida.
Recruit and engage physicians interested in joining Rocket Doctor in Florida.
Participate in physician recruitment, informational, and onboarding calls.
Partner with Provider Success and Credentialing to monitor onboarding and identify barriers or delays.
Help new physicians become familiar with Rocket Doctor’s clinical workflows, EMR, platform tools, and support resources.
Advise the team on Florida-specific clinical, regulatory, physician, and patient-access considerations.
Help identify physician availability and clinic-coverage needs as the market develops.
Facilitate recurring Florida physician meetings as the physician network grows.
Troubleshoot emerging challenges affecting physicians or patients in Florida.
Participate in the biweekly U.S. Physician Leads meeting and collaborate on broader U.S. clinical initiatives.
Contribute to physician resources, clinical workflows, platform improvements, and strategic planning.
Provide Florida-specific feedback to Rocket Doctor’s clinical and operational leadership.
The Physician Lead supports these activities in partnership with Rocket Doctor’s full-time teams and is not solely responsible for credentialing, onboarding administration, scheduling, or day-to-day physician management.
DUTIES / REQUIREMENTS:
Hold an active, unrestricted license to practice medicine in Florida and board certification in at least one U.S.-recognized medical specialty.
Be in good standing with the Florida Board of Medicine or Florida Board of Osteopathic Medicine, as applicable.
Demonstrate strong organization, communication, professionalism, and sound judgment.
Be comfortable working across clinical, operational, business, and technology functions.
Be familiar with electronic medical records, virtual-care technology, and U.S. privacy requirements, including HIPAA.
Be able to facilitate meetings and communicate effectively with physicians, patients, and Rocket Doctor staff.
Be proactive, collaborative, and solutions-oriented when addressing emerging challenges.
Maintain the confidentiality of patient, physician, and company information.
Bring an understanding of Florida’s healthcare environment and, ideally, an established professional network within the state.
Experience with telemedicine, physician leadership, Medicaid or Medicare populations, healthcare operations, clinical program development, or early-stage healthcare organizations is preferred.
TIME COMMITMENT:
This is a part-time position requiring approximately four hours per week.
Much of the work can be completed asynchronously through Slack and email. However, the role also includes regular synchronous commitments, including:
A biweekly U.S. Physician Leads meeting.
Physician recruitment and onboarding calls.
Florida launch-planning meetings.
Occasional partner or operational calls.
Recurring Florida physician meetings as the network develops.
Some meetings may occur during standard business hours. The current meeting cadence and timing will be reviewed during the interview process and confirmed before the candidate accepts the position.
WORK / TRAVEL:
This is a remote position based in the United States. No routine travel is currently anticipated. The successful candidate must be able to perform the position’s responsibilities with reasonable accommodation.
Equity Statement
We are committed to fostering an inclusive, equitable, and accessible environment, where everyone feels valued, respected and supported, with a workforce and group of suppliers that reflect the diversity of our community. We particularly encourage women, Black people, Indigenous peoples, people of color, and members of the LGBTQIA community to apply.
