About the Role
Sellers Dorsey is seeking a Consultant for the Pennsylvania practice based in Harrisburg, PA who will support a portfolio that involves financial and policy initiatives connected to projects and payment programs contained within the practice portfolio. As a Consultant, you will provide project management services to project teams and be responsible for ensuring the timely and effective delivery of technical, policy and political solutions created to ensure successful results for our clients, particularly in the area of Medicaid financing. You will support the Senior Director and project team. Your responsibilities will include managing detailed project schedules and workplans, timelines and strategies related to client engagements and managing workflows with project teams to ensure timely completion of client deliverables.

Key Responsibilities
Monitor project timelines and ensure client communication (scheduling meetings, drafting agendas and follow up communication) at necessary intervals to facilitate clear understanding and alignment with routine activities to move the projects forward. Support project administration, by tracking the progression of project components and documenting important decisions, next steps, and outcomes of the projects. Communicate verbally and in writing, both internally and externally, the status of various assigned team projects and their components. Participate in internal team discussions.
Work on broader client projects and connect with clients. Practice active listening relating to each client to identify client expectations, identify potential risks and opportunities, and anticipate client needs for team consideration. Prepare and provide documentation to internal teams and key stakeholders as requested, conducting research from many sources including state and federal legislation, CMS guidance, past CMS approvals and online sources as may be required. Gather and summarize information to prepare relevant case studies.
Assist with projects requiring quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis; collect, analyze, and summarize the data and findings into concise, usable reports.
Gain an understanding of Sellers Dorsey value proposition by becoming familiar with the Medicaid program and applicable Federal regulations and guidance. Work independently on routine tasks that support the development of client reports, client communications and project deliverables. Create and/or update workflows to improve team productivity and efficiency.
Participate in firmwide learning and knowledge sharing sessions. Complete all compliance training by communicated deadlines. Expand internal network to create broader connections and develop internal Subject Matter Expert (SME) relationships. Submit timely and accurate time and expense report, adhering to utilization expectations. Carry out other administrative duties as required to support the team and practice portfolio.
Key Qualifications
Bachelor's degree is required. Advanced degree in Public Policy, Public Administration, Public Health, Health Administration, business, economics or MBA preferred.
Bachelor's degree and 3-7 years in a public healthcare policy administration role and/or in the healthcare consulting industry; advanced degree in Public Policy, Public Administration, Public Health, Health Administration, business, economics or MBA preferred (or additional relevant experience in lieu of such advanced degree) or Advanced degree with 2-3 years of progressively responsible work experience in health or human services policy research, consulting and/or in a service delivery environment.
Experience with Pennsylvania Medicaid preferred.
Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Share Point.
Other Requirements
Desire to attain a deeper level of Medicaid finance knowledge while performing project management activities to grow into a more technical role in the future.
Excellent oral and written communication skills including relaying complex technical terms in an easy-to-understand manner.
Ability to interact professionally with clients and other outside audiences.
Experience supporting several projects simultaneously.
Experience organizing and coordinating the work of others.
Professional writing experience is highly desirable.
Previous project/task management experience strongly desired; familiarity with or ability to learn project management software packages to support the team’s work.
Core competencies include attention to detail, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Self-motivation with the ability to work independently and in teams. Ability to identify gaps in current knowledge and proactively seek additional knowledge through training or consultation with senior staff to fill any identified knowledge gaps.

Compensation & Benefits
The anticipated salary range for candidates is $66,000/year to up to $82,000/year. The final pay offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and years of experience within the job, the type of years and experience within the industry, the candidate’s education, and the candidate’s market location. Typically, candidates are not hired near the top of the range and compensation decisions are made based upon Sellers Dorsey’s Total Compensation Policies & Guidelines. The successful candidate will also be eligible to participate in our annual Corporate Incentive Plan (CIP) that can range to up to 7% of annual salary.
Provided they meet all eligibility requirements under the applicable plan documents, the successful candidate (and their eligible dependents) will be eligible to enroll in group healthcare plans that offer medical, dental, and vision and for insurance plans offering short term disability, long term disability, and basic life. Employees are also able to enroll in Sellers Dorsey’s 401k plan provided they meet plan requirements. Sellers Dorsey offers a Flexible Time Off that allows employees to use what they need. Additionally, we offer 16 paid holidays throughout the calendar year, paid time off for qualifying medical leave, and up to 12 weeks of combined paid parental and bonding leave. The foregoing benefits and paid time off, including an employee’s eligibility therefore, will be controlled by applicable plan documents and Sellers Dorsey policy.
