This is a high-impact leadership opportunity within Legal & Compliance, overseeing the interpretation and implementation of investment guidelines within PIMCO’s proprietary compliance platform. The ACE-Guidelines Team plays a critical role in translating client, regulatory, and internal requirements into actionable rules that support portfolio management and trading activity.
The Manager will lead a team with end-to-end ownership of the guideline lifecycle, while partnering closely with Legal & Compliance, Account Management, Product Strategy, and the Trade Floor. The role offers broad exposure across investment strategies and senior stakeholders globally.
Lead and develop a team responsible for guideline interpretation, implementation, and ongoing governance.
Partner with Client-Facing and Legal teams to negotiate and operationalize investment discretion language.
Interpret complex investment restrictions across client mandates and regulatory frameworks.
Oversee the design and implementation of compliance rules within internal systems.
Support the Trade Floor by providing timely, practical guidance on guideline-related questions.
Drive resolution of portfolio guideline inquiries and escalations.
Lead and deliver strategic initiatives to enhance guideline processes, scalability, and automation.
Bachelor’s degree (Finance, Economics, Business, Accounting, or related field preferred).
7+ years of experience in investment compliance, asset management, or a related field.
Strong knowledge of global equity and fixed income markets, including derivatives.
Proficiency in Excel and data analysis.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience negotiating, interpreting, and implementing investment guidelines in a compliance system.
Familiarity with key regulatory frameworks (e.g., Investment Company Act of 1940, UCITS, AIFMD).
Experience with Bloomberg, SQL, or business intelligence tools (e.g., Business Objects).
CFA designation (or progress toward), MBA.
Additional language skills (e.g., German) a plus.
Demonstrated leadership with the ability to motivate and develop high-performing teams.
Strong judgment and integrity, with a commitment to high-quality, accurate output.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across all levels.
Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
Self-starter with a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset.
Ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining attention to detail.
