We currently have a unique opportunity for a curious and analytical professional to join us in Auckland as a Senior Associate supporting our Institutional Banking business.
Our Large Corporate Client Management and Execution team is focused on delivering high-quality, consistent credit and client support to the relationship team, supporting BNZ’s high-value Large Corporate clients and target customers.
What are some of the day to day tasks the person in this role will complete?
Play a key role in the preparation of credit submissions using a range of business and industry analytical tools available to you.
Conduct risk assessments, financial modelling and stress testing and reviewing due diligence reports in a timely and accurate manner.
Provide credit/risk analysis to ensure that portfolio quality is maintained or improved and assist where required in the structuring of new credit exposures.
Conduct industry analysis to aid individual and team understanding of the external environment, trends, opportunities, and challenges within the various segments that make up the sector.
Contribute to the development of sector and individual client plans. Contribute by applying ideas and observations gained through industry and market insights.

As a key member of the team, you will support a broad portfolio of Large Corporate clients, working alongside a specialist Institutional Banking relationship team. You will partner with experts across Markets and Transactional Banking to deliver high-quality client outcomes, with the opportunity to take on meaningful responsibility.
What attributes will this person display in order to be successful in this role?
We are ideally looking for someone who has:
3+ years’ experience, gained within Corporate or Institutional Banking, or another relevant profession.
Deep understanding of financial analysis, credit issues, risk management and debt structuring and an ability to work in these areas largely unsupervised.
You will also have excellent communication skills (both verbal & written), be highly analytical and the ability to confidently prioritise and manage time critical tasks with conflicting priorities.
