Full job description
Te tūranga – The role
This is an exciting opportunity to lead and shape talent acquisition at New Zealand’s Central Bank, Te Pūtea Matua.
As our Manager Talent, you'll lead the team responsible for talent attraction, sourcing, selection, talent pooling and recruitment delivery across Te Pūtea Matua. More than managing recruitment operations, you'll help define how we attract, engage and develop the talent that will enable our organisation to deliver on its purpose for New Zealand.
You'll create and drive an enterprise-wide talent strategy that brings together workforce planning, talent pipelines, candidate experience and future capability needs into a cohesive and forward-looking programme of work. Working closely with leaders across the organisation, you'll provide thought leadership, challenge conventional approaches and identify new opportunities to build a sustainable talent advantage.
Another key focus of the role is leading our Early Careers programmes, including scholarships, internships and graduate pathways. This is an exciting opportunity to help open doors for the next generation of talent while building diverse capability pipelines that will support the future of the Reserve Bank of New Zealand.
You'll champion continuous improvement across recruitment and talent practices, ensuring our processes are innovative, inclusive, efficient and deliver exceptional outcomes for candidates, hiring managers and the organisation. Leading a high-performing team, you'll foster a culture of collaboration, curiosity and excellence while contributing to the broader People and Culture strategy.
Ō pūkenga – About you
To succeed in this role, you'll be an experienced and visionary Talent leader who thrives on thinking beyond today's hiring needs and shaping the workforce of tomorrow.
You'll bring:
Significant leadership experience within Talent Acquisition, Talent Management, Workforce Planning or broader People and Culture functions.
A proven track record developing and delivering talent strategies, candidate attraction initiatives and sourcing approaches that create long-term organisational value.
A passion for Early Careers and developing innovative pathways that help emerging talent successfully enter and grow within the workforce.
Strong commercial and strategic thinking, with the ability to turn complex challenges into practical, actionable outcomes.
Exceptional stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence, build credibility and partner effectively with a range of stakeholders.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage, inspire and bring others on the journey.
An inclusive leadership style and a commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion.
Knowledge of, or a genuine commitment to building understanding of, Te Tiriti o Waitangi and Te Ao Māori in the workplace.
