As one of the largest woven textile mills in the world, Valdese Weavers designs and manufactures residential and contract-grade fabrics for furniture manufacturers, fabric distributors, and large retailers.
The base pay for this position is $16.90. 2nd and 3rd shift do receive a shift premium of $1.00. We offer a $50 attendance bonus for every two weeks in which you miss no time, not including our shutdown periods. This bonus would provide an extra $0.62 to your hourly rate.
Job Summary: Pull and return raw yarn for Novelty/Taslan manufacturing operations. Must operate and maintain Extrusion machinery and equipment. Ability to support Circa WH 4290 operations in loading/unloading trucks, and handling yarn movements for plant operations.
Essential Functions For Novelty WH Attendant: Perform the following duties following ISO-9001 work instructions and standards.
Meet deadlines and production quotas.
Locate and pull raw yarn as required for Yarn Mfg.
Weigh and put away finished yarn as needed.
Move and organize bins in Mfg. area to maintain proper workflow.
Locate and put away unused raw yarn as orders are completed.
Locate and put away yarn from Extrusion.
Make transactions as needed to ensure inventory is correct
Pull yarn for outside processed yarns.
Perform other duties as assigned. (Bail yarn, remove waste, create bins)
Essential Functions For Extrusion Operator: Perform the following duties following ISO-9001 work instructions and standards.
Performs color changes on extruder lines by changing chips, settings, clear mixer, and extruding previous colors.
Clean and inspect individual pack parts.
Rebuild packs containing spinneret for reuse.
Monitor extrude machinery and correct quality product non-conformance issues.
Control machine settings, stage raw materials, and oversee production to ensure high-quality operation.
Add color to the yarn during the extrusion process.
Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Essential Functions For 4290 WH Attendant: Perform the following duties following ISO-9001 work instructions and standards.
Scan and adjust box or bin rows, and combine yarns to create bins.
Open the shared file, pull the yarn required for the main, and locate in bins.
Load/unload yarn onto and off of the trucks.
Place yarn from vendors or other plants into the proper location.
Make any transaction needed to ensure inventory is correct.
Pull yarn for outside processed yarns.
Maintain personal attendance points balance of 5 points or less.
Report all job-related injuries to the supervisor as soon as possible.
Report any safety hazards to the supervisor immediately.
Actively participate in safety programs, which identify, investigate, and correct safety hazards.
Safely perform all duties following guidelines established by the company.
Hearing protection in high noise areas, safety belt when using a cherry picker, seat belt or forklift, and others as needed to do an assignment safely.
Follow the 5S Standards.
Good communication skills with the ability to work well with others.
Ability to discern between different colors and shades.
Must be able to operate powered equipment.
