The Moh's Histotechnician supports the surgeon by preparing tissue specimens through grossing, processing, embedding, and staining. They are also responsible for maintaining a clean laboratory environment and adhering to quality control standards.
Candidates must have an associate degree in biological sciences or medical laboratory technology and at least one year of experience with Mohs procedures. Certification as a Histotechnologist (HTL, ASCP) or Histotechnician (HT, ASCP) is required.
The Moh's Histotechnician plays a vital role in supporting the Mohs surgeon by ensuring accurate and efficient preparation of tissue specimens. This includes assisting with specimen grossing, tissue processing, embedding, cutting, staining, and maintaining a clean and well-functioning laboratory environment.
