Responsibilities
The Local Area Coordinator assists NDIS participants in navigating the NDIS, linking them to community services, and developing capacity-building plans. They provide ongoing support to participants, families, and carers to help them achieve their goals and understand their funding.
Requirements
Candidates should have experience in the disability sector, strong NDIS knowledge, and excellent communication and time management skills. A background in managing high-volume caseloads or KPI-driven work is required, and lived experience is highly regarded.

We invite expressions of interest for NDIS Local Area Coordination professionals to join our team on a full-time basis in Leura or Lithgow, NBM.
Full-Time Permanent opportunities (38 hours per week)
Work-from-home flexibility of 2 days per week
SCHADS 401, $92,200 base plus Salary packaging up to $18,550 plus Super
What you’ll be doing in this role As a Local Area Coordinator, you would be using your people skills, ability to multitask and move with changes rapidly to assist participants to be linked to and navigate the NDIS. You will guide participants in their options to make informed choices while gathering information for the development of their NDIS plans to help further build capacity. LACs also support NDIS participants in exploring ways to achieve their goals and help them understand how the funding in their plan works
Your work will include:
Supporting people with disabilities, their families and carers by providing linkage and referrals to community and Mainstream Services and/or services funded by the NDIA’s Grant programs
With hands-on NDIS and Uniting training, you will develop a thorough understanding of how to best support NDIS participants through the various stages of their pathway
Undertake other duties as requested by the Service Area Leadership Team consistent with the general nature and responsibilities of the position
Who we’re looking for
Someone with great people skills, customer service, excellent communication and time management skills.
Background with Disability, understanding of a Local Area Coordinator and NDIS knowledge or with Lived Experience.
Successfully manage multiple responsibilities and experience with high KPI-driven work or targets or caseloads with efficiency and meet service delivery deadlines.
You’ll be adaptable, empathetic, and resourceful and be able to live Uniting’s everyday values of being compassionate, respectful, imaginative, and bold.
