The specialist will lead the development and implementation of climate action plans, greenhouse gas inventories, and vulnerability assessments for urban and regional programs. They will also provide technical advisory to government agencies and integrate climate strategies into infrastructure projects.
Candidates must hold a Master's degree in Climate Change, Environmental Science, Engineering, or Sustainability, with a PhD or certifications preferred. A minimum of 8 years of professional experience in climate action planning and government advisory is required.
The Climate Change & Climate Action Specialist will provide technical expertise in developing and implementing climate mitigation and adaptation strategies for urban and regional development programmes. The expert will support governments in preparing climate action plans, greenhouse gas inventories, vulnerability assessments, emissions reduction strategies and implementation frameworks aligned with national and international climate commitments.
Key Responsibilities
Lead Climate Action Plans.

Prepare GHG inventories.
Develop mitigation and adaptation strategies.
Prepare climate indicators.
Support governance systems.
Review climate policies.
Develop investment priorities.

Educational Qualifications
Essential: Master's in Climate Change/Environmental Science/Engineering/Sustainability.
Preferred: PhD or climate certifications.
8+ years preparing climate action plans, vulnerability assessments and government advisory.
