The Corporate Information & Technology (CIT) department provides essential business technology solutions that support organizational strategic priorities and operational excellence. Within CIT, the Core Operations (CITOP) unit plays a pivotal role in delivering and maintaining digital platforms that enable critical operations and client engagement. CIT is undergoing a significant transformation aligned with the Agile framework and scaled delivery models, emphasizing agility, product-centric delivery, and continuous improvement. The department manages a diverse application landscape, which includes both in-house developed systems (custom applications) and customized / integrated commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) solutions.
As part of this modernization journey, CITOP is focused on leveraging cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, Salesforce to streamline business processes, enhance user experience, and ensure scalable, secure, and maintainable architecture. The Associate Solutions Architect will play a critical role in shaping the technical direction of these platforms and solutions, encompassing custom application development and COTS product management. This involves leading architectural design, ensuring alignment with enterprise standards, and enabling cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, reusable, and future-ready solutions. The role supports CITOP’s broader goals of innovation, operational efficiency, and client-centric delivery.
Objectives
The Associate Solutions Architect will contribute to the design and implementation of scalable IT solutions across various business domains, with a specific focus on custom application development and COTS product implementation / integration. This role will ensure architectural integrity, enforce best practices, and provide technical leadership and guidance throughout the software development lifecycle.
Duties and Accountabilities
The Associate Solutions Architect is an experienced professional who performs professional-level research and analyses and provides knowledge-based guidance to more junior staff within the job area. This role involves evaluating user needs and designing organization-specific applications and systems that enhance internal operations, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams in an agile environment to deliver value through continuous improvement and innovation. Key duties include:
Solutions Architecture Development
• Assists with the design of scalable architecture solutions that align with client needs and industry standards.
• Drafts and maintains documentation for architecture designs, processes, and standards to facilitate knowledge sharing.
Architecture Analysis & Innovation
• Supports the evaluation of technologies, tools, and frameworks to enhance solution performance and reliability.
• Executes architectural reviews, ensuring adherence to best practices and organizational goals.
• Help monitor industry trends and emerging technologies to identify opportunities for innovation and improvement.
• Partners with Agile teams to identify inconsistencies in architectural design and assist the Agile Release Train with enhancements.
Stakeholder Engagement
• Supports the communication of the organization’s solutions architecture vision to stakeholders to ensure alignment with business objectives and program increment planning.
• Participates in cross-functional collaboration to gather, analyze, and translate business requirements into product specifications.
• Supports Agile teams with implementing the architecture.
Selection Criteria
This role is for an experienced professional who performs professional-level research and analyses, proposes solutions to moderately complex problems, and provides knowledge-based guidance to more junior staff within the job area.
Required:
• Master’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of IT experience with a strong focus on solution design, custom application development, and COTS product integration.
• Deep expertise in designing and developing IT solutions across various technologies, with a proven track record in both custom application development and COTS product management.
• Strong understanding of architectural patterns, integration strategies, data modeling, data migration, and security practices.
• Proven ability to deliver enterprise-grade solutions and resolve complex technical issues within a structured IT environment.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with strong business acumen, capable of effectively engaging technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience with enterprise integration platforms such as Enterprise Service Bus (ESB), Azure API Management, or similar.
• Experience in project management or leading technical aspects of projects within cross-functional teams in an agile environment.
• Demonstrated ability to adapt to changing priorities, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and deliver high-quality solutions within established deadlines.

• Certifications:
Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert or Associate.
AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate or Professional.
SAFe Agile Software Engineering (ASE) or SAFe Practitioner (SP).
• Familiarity with DevOps tools and practices, including GitLab, GitHub, Jenkins, SonarQube, Checkmarx, and Azure DevOps.
• Familiarity with cloud security features and best practices.
• Experience with agile methodologies.

Further technical proficiency at a Skilled level is expected in Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) Pipeline, Front-End Development, GitHub Copilots, Innovation, System Design, Web Applications Development, Systems Integration, Product Management, Software Architecture, Configuration Management, Automation and Robotics, Corporate Governance, Solution Design and Architecture (SD&A), and Security Architecture and Analysis.
