Full job description
Company Description
Lendi Group is a market-leading digital platform business that is focused on revolutionising the entire property journey. It operates Lendi - Australia’s original and #1 digital mortgage brand - and the iconic Aussie franchise.
Powered by an advanced AI proprietary platform, a national network of 1,300 brokers, 230 retail stores, a team of experienced buyer’s agents, integrated property search and conveyancing, Aussie is supporting customers at every step of their property journey to find, buy and own with more confidence than ever before. Lendi Group’s loan book is more than $100b and it was named Australia’s Aggregator of the Year for 2024.
Innovation at Our Core – We challenge the status quo and push boundaries to create better solutions, with a goal of becoming AI-native by June 2026.
Work with the Best – Collaborate with some of the brightest minds in fintech, financial services, and strategy.
Make an Impact – Contribute to meaningful projects that shape our business and the future of property finance.
Grow & Evolve – Develop your skills and advance your career in a fast-moving, purpose-driven environment.
About The Role
We’re looking for a Risk & Compliance Manager to partner with our frontline teams and help make smart, commercially balanced risk decisions.
You’ll provide practical advice, constructive challenge and oversight across operational risk and compliance, helping the business understand its risks and strengthen its controls. Rather than simply identifying problems, you’ll work with stakeholders to find practical solutions that support both strong customer outcomes and business growth.
We’re also evolving how we manage risk, including exploring automation and AI in control design. If you enjoy challenging the status quo, influencing stakeholders and making risk management simpler and smarter, this could be a great fit.
Job Description
Partner with the business on risk: Provide practical risk and compliance advice, constructive challenge and support to help teams make informed risk/reward decisions.
Monitor and manage emerging risks: Identify, assess and monitor risks, incidents and issues, ensuring appropriate actions, escalation and follow-through.
Strengthen our controls: Design and advise on effective preventative and detective controls, including opportunities to use automation and technology to improve how risks are managed.
Embed risk frameworks: Support Risk and Control Self-Assessments (RCSAs) and help embed risk management tools, frameworks and processes across the business.
Turn risk data into insight: Monitor risk performance, identify trends and prepare clear reporting and insights for divisional risk discussions and decision-making.
Support supplier risk and governance: Provide specialist advice across supplier risk and governance processes, helping ensure appropriate controls and oversight are in place.
Build risk capability: Design and deliver practical operational risk and compliance training that helps stakeholders confidently manage risk in their day-to-day roles.
Keep our risk information on track: Maintain accurate information within Lendi Group’s risk management system and support broader risk and compliance initiatives as required.
Qualifications
What You’ll Bring:
3+ years’ experience in risk and compliance within consumer lending, credit assistance, mortgage broking or a related financial services environment.
Strong understanding of relevant Australian regulatory obligations, including the National Consumer Credit Protection Act, Privacy Act and AML/CTF requirements.
Hands-on experience in control design, development and testing.
Experience identifying, assessing and managing operational and compliance risks, incidents and issues.
Strong commercial judgement, with the ability to provide pragmatic risk advice while considering customer and business outcomes.
Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills, with confidence engaging and constructively challenging stakeholders at all levels.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex risk matters into clear, practical advice.
A proactive and adaptable mindset, with an interest in finding smarter ways to manage risk.
Nice to Haves:
Experience with RCSAs, risk appetite frameworks and risk management systems.
Exposure to supplier / third-party risk and governance.
Experience designing or delivering risk and compliance training.
Exposure to automation, AI or technology-enabled approaches to risk and control management.
Relevant degree or professional qualification.
