Role Purpose:

The Workforce Change and Advisory team will be central to delivering the people strategy with business leaders and redesigning how work gets done in the age of agentic AI.  People Consultant teams will be brought together into a single practice to strengthen consistency, knowledge sharing and common tools, accelerating delivery of people priorities across the bank.

• This large-scale people leadership role leads all People Business Consultants in a unified team.
• The role is accountable for workforce redesign in the age of AI – including role design, operating model changes and broader workforce transformation.
• It partners closely with People Business Partners and specialist teams to design and deliver strategic people solutions and cross‑functional change, using AI and people analytics to drive better decisions and outcomes.

Principal Accountabilities:

• Run the combined People Business Consultant team, allocating resources to the most important business priorities.
• Design and deliver people solutions for the Businesses and Infrastructure working with the Business Partners and specialist teams across the organisation.
• Lead on workforce redesign in the age of AI to transform the workforce – how we design roles, human and agent teams and workforce transformation and OD.
• Lead large change projects and solve complex people challenges using proven How We Lead frameworks.
• Drive workforce efficiency through future workforce planning, structure simplification, and cost/FTE savings, supporting FRP achievement and governance.
• Champion the People + AI = Results (PAIR) approach: drive adoption of AI tools and people analytics, building team skills in design thinking, behavioural science, and AI — while scaling back traditional generalist People advisory work.
• Use data and insights to drive productivity and engagement, including Snapshot feedback analysis and targeted engagement initiatives.
• Sponsor knowledge-sharing communities within the team  (e.g. AI, change management, communications) to spread best practice across the team.
• Keep the People Leadership Team and senior stakeholders informed on progress, risks, and outcomes.

Experience

Sector Expertise:

• Senior leadership experience in a large, global financial services or corporate organisation, comfortable navigating complexity and competing priorities.

Subject Matter Expertise:

• Market knowledge – well versed and aware of industry trends on Workforce redesign and AI.
• Track record of leading enterprise-wide transformation — including operating model redesign and large-scale change.
• Strong grasp of organisational design, workforce planning, and agile structures (e.g. Chapters, Squads, Guilds) including backlog management and capacity planning.
• Hands-on experience with AI tools, analytics, and data-driven decision-making in a People context.
• Knowledge of design thinking, behavioural science, and consulting methods applied to people strategy.

Leadership & Collaboration:

• Skilled at coaching senior leaders and teams to improve performance and collaboration. Able to turn complex data into clear, actionable insights for executive audiences.

Stakeholder Management:

• Highly effective senior stakeholder management, able to build trust across the enterprise.  Navigates and influences across a complex, matrixed organisation.
