The Grants Payments Data Analyst will build and maintain forecasting models for clinical site payments while collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure financial accuracy. The role of the Grants Payments Data Analyst is to assist in building a forecast model for needed forecasting outside of Medidata Payments, and to own that model and future updates and improvements. The role will also be involved in developing the forecasting process outside of Medidata Payments and how that links with forecasts from Medidata Payments. They will work closely with the Revenue Recognition, Clinical Payments, Investigator Grants Payments, and Project Analyst teams, along with other departments that contribute data to the forecasting and payment of sites, to assist in developing the end-to-end forecasting process of Clinical Site Payments. The Analyst will also be involved in developing a client-ready forecast format for the Project Analyst to incorporate into their Financial Client Deliverables.
Work with the Central Planning and Clinical Operations teams to gather current site enrollment and patient enrollment data (actuals and forecast)
Assist in creating a model for forecasting needed outside of Medidata Payments and own the model and subsequent updates and improvements
Assist in linking the forecast model with Medidata Payments forecasts
Work with the Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) Revenue Recognition team to confirm adherence to requirements for financial audits
Create client-ready forecast deliverables as specified per sponsor contracts
Perform forecast analysis: plan vs. actuals; total budget needs with sponsor
Notify Project Analysts and Global Project Leads of issues in over-forecast and under-forecast variances
Ensure compliance with audit requirements and support the year-end and interim audit processes
Support the Clinical Operations (CO) process
Stay up to date with local and global revenue regulations
Ensure accurate reporting to clients in a timely manner in line with client requirements
Complete final reconciliation on study closeout and provide the Project Analyst with final client-ready reports for review
Perform other duties as assigned. The duties and responsibilities listed above are representative of the nature and level of work assigned and are not necessarily all-inclusive.
Ability to influence and challenge as required
Understanding of the process of paying sites
Understanding of accounting and revenue recognition standards
Strong analytical skills
Proficient in Excel, databases, and accounting systems
Degree educated with at least 2 to 5 years of finance experience
