The successful candidate will play a key role in connecting business needs with technology solutions. The position involves analysing business processes, identifying improvement opportunities and applying data-driven insights to support decision-making across the organisation. The role requires close collaboration with business stakeholders, delivery teams and technical specialists.
Responsibilities
Engage with stakeholders to gather and document business requirements and objectives.
Translate business needs into functional and non-functional requirements, including user stories and acceptance criteria.
Analyse existing business processes and workflows and identify opportunities for improvement.
Develop process maps, use cases and supporting documentation to guide solution design and delivery.
Work with technical teams and business stakeholders to maintain alignment on project objectives and deliverables.
Support the development of business cases, feasibility assessments and cost-benefit analyses.
Support testing activities, including user acceptance testing planning and solution validation.
Provide guidance and support on business analysis approaches, tools and standards.
Maintain awareness of developments in business analysis, data utilisation and public sector transformation.
Qualifications
Essential Criteria
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Data Science or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
Demonstrated experience as a Business Analyst on data analytics, digital transformation or technology-enabled projects.
Experience gathering and documenting business requirements.
Experience producing user stories, acceptance criteria, process maps, use cases and functional specifications.
Ability to analyse business challenges and translate requirements into practical solutions.
Experience communicating effectively with stakeholders at different organisational levels.
Demonstrated attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality outcomes.
Experience working independently and within multidisciplinary teams.
Experience using DevOps tools and practices.
Experience working with Power BI.
Experience supporting Agile, Scrum or similar delivery methodologies.
Desirable Criteria
Agile or Scrum certification.
Master's degree in a relevant discipline.
Experience supporting public sector organisations.
Experience working on multi-agency or cross-department programmes.
Knowledge of housing-related datasets, reporting requirements or government programmes.
Experience contributing to data analytics initiatives and reporting projects.
