The phlebotomist is responsible for the accurate collection, labeling, and processing of blood and other specimens from patients of all ages. They also manage patient registration, order entry, and ensure the safe transport of laboratory samples while maintaining high standards of customer service.
Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent and possess a valid driver's license. Completion of a phlebotomy training program or equivalent clinical experience is preferred, along with strong computer navigation skills.
Responsible for the collection of blood and other specimens from all patient populations using prescribed procedures with accuracy, skill, professionalism and superb customer service. Duties may require on and off‐site phlebotomy, specimen transport and specimen delivery duties. Other specialized duties including patient registration, patient lab order management, processing specimens for testing, blood study kit handling, and lab order entry.
Phlebotomy experience in a clinical laboratory setting or completion of phlebotomy training at vocational or other training center is preferred. Other requirements include excellent interpersonal skills and computer competency.
Employees are required to attend in‐service classes or workshops relevant to the job.
The pay for this position ranges from $17.34-$24.32 per hour.
