The Critical Care Technician assists patients with activities of daily living and supports the healthcare team by performing technical duties such as phlebotomy and vital signs monitoring. They are responsible for documenting patient status, reinforcing care education, and maintaining a safe environment.
Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED and a valid Patient Care Technician certification. Additionally, an AHA Basic Life Support certification and completion of a recognized technical certification like CPT or CPCT-A are required.

The Critical Care Tech, under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN), assists with patients’ activities of daily living and supports the overall plan of care. This role involves direct communication with and support for the healthcare team, patients, and their families or significant others. The position requires maintaining high standards of professional ethics and contributing to the delivery of quality patient care within the organization.
Kelemen 10 is a medical-surgical unit that cares for patients who have various needs and disease processes. Both North and South 10 have Telemetry capabilities for our patients. Each unit, North/South houses 36 patients and 2 hallway areas totaling a maximum of 76 patients.
South 10 has a 12-bed Intermediate Care Unit embedded within the 36-bed unit. The capacity of INCU is not usually more than 12 patients. INCU has critically care-trained RNs who support the patient's needs and care for ventilated patients. South 10 also has 2 negative pressure isolation rooms with an anti-room that is used when needed for specific isolation needs.
We do multidisciplinary rounds Monday – Friday. This involves the patient in their care and allows the team members to collaborate with the patient to give them the best possible care and appropriate discharge to home or other facilities. We have a pharmacist who has an office on the unit to assist the RNs when needed to help avoid delay of care to any patient.
Part time days, 24 hours a weekHours: 7a-7:30p with weekend/holidays rotation
