NSW Fair Trading plays an important role in helping people and businesses participate with confidence in a fair and safe marketplace across NSW.
Within Fair Trading, the Consumer Affairs branch brings together a diverse range of functions, including Registries, Licensing, Customer Resolution, Compliance and Enforcement, Program Delivery, and Strategy and Engagement. We protect consumers, support responsible businesses and respond to emerging market issues across NSW.

The Office of the Executive Director helps keep the branch connected, coordinated and focused on delivering outcomes. We provide visibility of priorities, risks and progress across Consumer Affairs, helping leaders make informed decisions and maintain momentum against key deliverables.

We're looking for a motivated and collaborative Senior Coordinator Business Operations to help bring structure, visibility and momentum to branch-wide initiatives. This is a role for someone who enjoys building relationships, solving problems and helping others succeed.
Working closely with leaders and teams across Consumer Affairs, you'll help improve how we plan, communicate, monitor progress and respond to emerging opportunities and challenges.

About the Role
As the Senior Coordinator Business Operations, you'll play a key role in supporting the effective operation of Consumer Affairs. You'll help coordinate branch priorities, maintain visibility of delivery across Consumer Affairs, strengthen governance processes and ensure actions, risks and dependencies are actively monitored and progressed. You'll also support communication and engagement activities that keep our people informed, connected and aligned.

This is a varied role that combines planning, coordination, stakeholder engagement and business improvement. You'll work closely with executive leaders, managers and corporate partners to identify issues early, support informed decision-making and drive practical solutions that improve the way we work.

Success in this role comes from being organised, proactive and adaptable. You'll enjoy bringing people together, creating clarity in complex environments and helping turn ideas into action.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate the Consumer Affairs Delivery Plan and support branch-wide governance, planning and reporting activities.
• Maintain a consolidated view of branch priorities, risks, dependencies and delivery progress to support informed decision-making.
• Drive follow-through of governance actions and commitments, supporting accountability and timely delivery of agreed outcomes.
• Coordinate branch-level recruitment, workforce and resource planning activities, supporting visibility of capability and delivery needs.
• Support the planning and delivery of executive forums, workforce engagement initiatives and branch communications.
• Prepare high-quality briefings, reports, presentations, submissions and correspondence for senior leaders.
• Lead or support initiatives that improve business processes, collaboration and organisational effectiveness.
• Build strong relationships across Fair Trading, the Department of Customer Service and corporate partners to support coordinated delivery of branch priorities.
• Provide guidance and coordination across business support functions to ensure consistent, high-quality outcomes.
• Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement, accountability and customer-focused service delivery.

• Experience coordinating governance, business operations, project delivery or strategic support functions.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
• Experience coordinating complex work across multiple stakeholders and maintaining momentum against agreed priorities and actions.
• Experience preparing high-quality reports, briefings and executive correspondence.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams and levels.
• Experience improving business processes, systems or ways of working.
• Ability to analyse information, identify issues and provide practical recommendations.
• A proactive and collaborative approach, with a strong focus on delivery and follow-through.
• Professional judgement, accountability and attention to detail.

Essential Requirements

• Demonstrated experience in business operations, governance, project management, corporate services, or a related discipline.
• Demonstrated ability to prepare high-quality reports, briefing notes, and executive correspondence.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and corporate business systems.

Salary Grade 9/10, with the base salary for this role starting at $133,348 base plus superannuation
