To expand our successful Asia business, we are hiring a Client Services Associate (Loan Agency Operations), Complex Deal Team at GLAS. The Client Services Associate will liaise very closely with the wider APAC Client Services Team. The role involves managing and processing all operational aspects of the more complex loan transactions managed from GLAS‘ Hong Kong and Singapore offices. Each team member has responsibility for a specific portfolio of loan transactions and acts as the primary operational contact for the Borrowers and Lenders on these transactions.
Responsibilities
- Managing and organising the daily workload, ensuring activities are performed within defined deadlines.
- Reviewing transaction documentation from an operational perspective.
- Collaborating and coordinating with team members to cover all operational aspects of loan closing processes.
- Managing funds flow between Borrowers and Lenders.
- Setting up transaction static data in internal loan databases (One View, Solvas).
- Managing drawdowns, rollovers, rate sets, secondary transfers, payments, prepayments, redemptions and maturities
- Receiving and checking SSIs, completing call-back procedures where necessary.
- Calculating and ensuring payment of payment of principal repayments, interest, commitment and other fees (including PIK and non-pro rata events).
- Arranging payments via online banking platforms of JPM, DBS and others.
- Reconciling client and transactional bank accounts.
- Handling loan transfer requests, ensuring requests comply with the transaction documentation and collecting transfer fees.
- Dealing with client queries in a timely manner.
- Dealing with external audit requests.
- Timely escalation of relevant matters to Team Leader and/or Managers.
- Due diligence with regards to potential fraud, money laundering, and both financial and reputational risk to GLAS.
- In conjunction with the Team Manager, developing processes and procedures.
Experience & Qualifications
- A degree in a finance or business-related field
- Solid knowledge and experience within loans agency, work-outs, restructuring or complex credit situations
- Knowledge of syndicated loans.
- Ability to carry out loan related calculations.
- Loan documentation review experience.
- Good technology skills and ability to work with loan administration and payment systems.
- Proven ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines
- Organisational and time management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail
- Previous experience of using Solvas desirable (but not essential)
- Professional approach.
