The volunteer provides patient care and support services, including homemaking, errands, and respite care, while serving as an integral member of the interdisciplinary hospice team. They are responsible for maintaining open communication, documenting activities, and participating in support groups and quality assessment teams.
Candidates must be mature individuals who have successfully completed the hospice volunteer training and orientation program. If performing home visits, they must possess a valid driver's license, insured vehicle, and meet all health requirements including vaccinations and physical examinations.
