Responsibilities:
Actively participates in patient care, notifying the supervising Physical Therapist of matters concerning the patient's condition.
Follows the Plan of Care established by the Physical Therapist and practices within state practice guidelines.
Exercises sound judgement, care, professionalism and skill in the performance of duties.
Instructs and counsels patients effectively in exercises and recovery.
Identifies patient’s needs and exhibits compassion and caring.
Conveys potential modifications ensuring patient’s progress, safety and comfort to the Physical Therapist.
Completes documentation in the EMR to support the delivery of physical therapy services
Under direct supervision of and with co-signature by a PT, records daily notes.
Provides information to patients by answering questions and requests.
Helps treat patients by applying ice or heat packs, helping patients onto exercise equipment, monitoring motion; tracking walking time and distance; performing prescribed exercises and strengthening techniques as requested by PT.
Educates patients by demonstrating proper use of equipment and exercise routines.
Maintains patient confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential.
Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
Enhances physical therapy department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments, is a team player.
Reports any issues needing resolution to Physical Therapists.

Qualifications
PTA, Licensed to practice in the State of New York
Hands on experience with therapeutic exercises, functional training and physical modalities
Ability to communicate and instruct effectively
Ability to delegate appropriate support care to non-licensed staff and serve as a resource in their training.
Additional Information
The anticipated hourly range for this position is $31-$40. Hourly range is based on various factors, including relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job-related qualifications, and geography. Additionally, this position is eligible for incentive compensation. The Company's incentive compensation plan is subject to change. Medical, dental, vision, 401(k), paid time off, and other benefits are also available, subject to the terms of the Company's plan.

If a patient is unable to travel to any of Metro’s 60+ locations, we are pleased to offer In Home Therapy and bring any of the services you need to you in the comfort of your own home. Metro has grown to over 500 Therapists across 4 states. The beautiful spa-like outpatient offices offer heated salt water pools, full fitness centers, and state of the art equipment including game ready ice compression, electric stimulation, cold laser and ultrasound heat. Our therapists spend 60+ minutes with every single patient and our patient outcomes are high because of how experienced our therapists are.
